I attended my cousins wedding here and came from minden la.get there go in the reception with few family members to help make sure all the things are set up for guest to come in.I was helping open the wine and champagne. A lady that I had no clue who she was came up to me and said who are you to the bride and groom I replied Cousin. She was very rude and said well I am going to need you to blow out these candles because we don't allow open flame.I told her this was not my wedding and I was not going ro go around blowing out there candles. But I would sure let them know when they got in there.she walked off mad. After everyone came in there were a few people elders that didn't have a chair my aunt ask me to ask her if there was anyway we could get a few chairs. She told me that they sure could but it would be another $250 I didn't know what to say I just told her ok let me check with them.so me and a few cousins and part of the wedding party decided to get our food and sit in the hallway on benches to allow elders to sit we could hear what was going on amd it was just to eat so it was fine.No big deal no reason to pay $250 for 5 chairs.this lady sees us in the hallway amd walks over and shuts the wooden doors right in front of us.i would NOT recommend anyone ever get married here or use this venue. The staff is extremely rude after you book. And it's really sad considering in 1998 I got married in the little chaple out here and the staff was great! Things have really changed and it is not at all the same.Although my cousins wedding was beautiful I wish this wouldn't have happened on theyre special day. These people should be ashamed of themselves.I pray this is not the next place to close like everything else around here.so sad...My daughter's next to get married and we would have loved it but not after this.my poor uncle couldn't even enjoy his sons reception due to this lady causing a scene. He had to go outside.i have videos of the way this employee acted also...(After I wrote this I get a email saying this is up for a review am I a paying customer. No I was a guest even worse.a guest of someone's...

I’m reporting her to the BBB she do not need to be in business so many people told me after how she was very ruled she is bad for this business .John you need to put someone eles in charge you will lose lots of business because of her lies it’s not her business what kind of work my husband and I do she don’t need to ask my caterer what we do or how much money we have that’s not professional at all.Im not stopping until she is gone no bride and groom should have to put up with her BS on their special day.The water in the pool was dirty and smelling .also during rehearsal after she walked another couple thru for over 30 she came out and told us we had 10 mins left on rehearsal when I told her I didn’t appreciate her walking somebody eles thru she told me we didn’t own nothing there when I paid my...
Read moreVisited the Rose Center yesterday,Saturday May 25th. We arrived to find no staff of any kind, the lights in the entrance building off, gift shop completely empty, and not a single map to the grounds in sight. There is a small, obscure framed printout telling people to pay admission or a drop box for cash, but as i was fiddling with buying a ticket via QR code, at least 6 other people blew right past without paying a dime. I cant say that i particularly fault them, as there were no obvious indicators that one even needed to pay, but i wonder how much money this place is losing by not having a single person on site to direct anyone. I hate to echo such a negative sentiment, but as another review stated, this place really mirrors the decline of Shreveport as a whole. This grand big place, turned into a ghost town. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, much was still in bloom, though could stand for a bit of some TLC. Many areas were completely barren, and a large portion of the park was behind tall fencing that displayed very vague signage regarding keeping gates closed because of deer, but nothing at all about whether or not the areas were open for viewing or not. Since we had no map, we just assumed they were off limits. I understand funding can be limited for facilities like this, but at least having a single staff member should be a minimum. I was touring the grounds to see the possibility of bringing a master gardener group from Texas out, but sadly, i feel many would leave with more questions than answers. I sincerely hope this place turns around. It would be a huge loss...
