Lithopolis means "city of stone" in Greek, and the library is like some sort of cathedral. Made with stone from the quarry that existed nearby, and built by the townspeople with funding from the Wagnall fortune (a generous gift from Mabel). Stained glass and paintings (there is even a Rockwell in the main lobby at the present moment) adorn it, and there is a fully functional theatre there as well. It is hard to frequent any other library, being so spoiled with the surroundings and friendliness of the staff. Definitely worth a visit, and in the nicer months the adjoining garden is a nice place to ponder. There is even a small outdoor ampitheatre to practice an instrument.
