You can see live reptiles including two types of venomous snakes and a few types of turtles. Great bird watching window with several feeders where you'll likely see interesting birds you don't normally see and other animals like squirrels trying to steal some seeds. There are plenty things to learn about regarding Indiana wildlife such as types of trees and how to identify their age by counting rings with an example. I would recommend stopping by with kids from age 5 to 12 who would most likely enjoy it or any fans of...

The DNR staff had to figure out how to handle our group camping and with a phone call or two, figured it all it and got it fixed for everyone. The trails were very well maintained. All the facilities I visited were clean. The Nature Center was packed full of great items, exhibits, live animals, and their staff also went above & being to help what my inquiries and request too. Really appreciate this detail to attention on one of their...

This is truly an outstanding nature center. You can learn about the flora and fauna while here. The best part is that there's a bird viewing area towards the back, which seems to have a single-blind window so the birds don't see you. This means they are plentiful. Out front, there is a nice flower garden where you can see...

Brown County State Park, located in Nashville, Indiana. Known as the “Little Smoky Mountains”, this state park is Indiana’s largest, covering 16,000 arces of beautiful hills and wilderness. The nature center located deep within the park is simply incredible. With animals like bees, snakes, and turtles, along with a bird watching room and interactive exbits, the center offers amazing opportunities to learn for all ages. It is beautiful area and well worth the trip off the main highway to explore. #enjoylife #boymom #travel #1000hoursoutside #travelwithkids #indiana #statepark #browncountystatepark #littlesmokies #greatsmokymountains

So, what is the strategy with the dusty, eroded, barren tree root trails??? Is the goal to get to bedrock THEN the resource is stable?? When Ogle Lake is filled with trail sediment? Just curious why the Brown County State Park hiking trails have zero maintenance or resource preservation.
