A true 5-star experience. Let me just give a shout out to the life guards, "You pulled off one of the most difficult (combined) looks there are, laid-back and yet VERY professional." Everyone there was instantly helpful, and willingly so. This is a band of very respectful and good-natured people.
And folks, this is a serious thing with me, i felt "safe" with those life guards around. I knew, if ANYTHING happened to me that they would be there in an instant. Kudos to your ladies and dudes of the life-guard ranks there.
The water felt great, the facilities were clean, the water-slides were fun, and the pool just felt AMAZING. I probably came out of it healthier than i went in and that's no lie. I do have a heart condition and i realized (after this trip) i need more exercise because i left feeling (and people who know me know i do not feel the need to exaggerate) "stronger" than when i came in.
For me, a 6'1" 50 year old man, the ticket was $26. You have the option of free or "up-front" parking for an additional $12. Lockers are $10 (with $5 back on giving the key back.
There are benches tables and pavilions everywhere. So, if you wanna rest, it's a stone's throw from most parts in the park.
There are two levels for food. Up top you have your somewhat "carnival" foods (dogs, burgers, pizza, ect) and below you have your ice creams. There are two large sets of bathrooms, a handicapped bathroom set, and a few others reserved for pavilions.
There are 5 "slide" rides up-top. The big, blue and white one is a lot of curves and i recommend going down face first.
The second set, i believe, is a triple slide (blue-green-yellow?) and great for the kids who like the "let's race down" experience.
There there's the big, white, half-pipe experience that makes your chest go up into your lungs the first time. This one you take with a floater and can be 1 or 2 people. It's gonna get your attention when you fee like you're about to go off that other side. LOL. :O
Next are a set of slides, a twisting tube and a straight down slide experience. Both are fun and you get a decent "surf" experience at the bottom area pool when you come out :P
Finally there is the tower. I gotta tell you. When they put you "inside" that tube, lock you in and you hear that "3...2...1" and then it drops the bottom out from under your feet...a tiny bit shocking but damn fun! See who can make the most rotations when you slide down to the bottom :)
Oh yes, i almost forgot, there is a little kids experience over to the left. They have the big water dump and their own little slides.
The pool has various depths and two slides (i call them, the red pill and the blue pill) in the middle. Hey, if you just wanna lay back and feel the waves, it's PERFECT for that experience. My "tranquility" meter got a momentary fill just laying on that smooth stone experience. A yeah, it's smooth and those lapping waves...nice.
There are few things, left anymore that give me those "like the old days experience" and that makes this place somewhat...
Read moreSo I'll give this place four and a half stars. First the positives. This place is so fun and you can spend all day here and still want more! The facilities are nice, you're able to grill, and there is fun for all ages. The pavilions are easy to rent and are very nice with a pool side view. For me this was critical since I have small children and hosting a party at the same time. So I was able to look straight out and see my kids whenever I had to do something party related. You can hang up decorations, you can bring in your own food, and they have their own concession stand with yummy treats. However it can be a little pricey so I recommend bringing your own food. Its very family-friendly with so many slides and pool depths.
Now the negative. So they could have a better ticketing system. They don't have party packages, you have to buy the wristbands the day of, and you can't buy them online which means no insurance if there are thunderstorms. If they reach capacity they don't let people in and they have the right to shut down the place. So if you're driving out of town and get there and it's to capacity or there's a thunderstorm well you're just out of luck. Thankfully, I am very organized and prepare very well and was able to resolve my issue because I had all my information on me. But it was rather annoying that I was told one thing and when I got there the staff had no clue what I was talking about. Maybe that's just water parks but I am not sure if a lot of water parks operate that way 🤷🏾♀️ However I do think they can be fair and will help you with the issue as best as they can.
So with that being said, for me, if you are the type of person that likes to plan... Then make sure you stay in contact with people, no detail is too small, and have the person's name, and whatever information they tell you. This is critical! At the end of the day, once I got into the park everything was wonderful and my sons had an...
Read moreWorst water park I've ever been to. When you walk from the parking lot to the park itself you cross over a 2 ft deep, stagnant, algae filled pond. While I was there, a lot of construction was going on and so I was always trying to find and avoid stray nails as the construction zone overlapped with the hot asphalt walking path. I tried to swim in the pool but someone had defecated in it. About three hours of going on the only halfway decent ride, I returned to the pool only to find it still littered with feces. The slides on the hill are absolutely disgusting. They are simply a tarp winding down a grassy hill. In an attempt to keep the guest "safe," the spring valley beach lawmakers advise that you wear one of their 30, dirty helmets to choose from. While you may not get a concussion, you will certainly contaminate your whole school/office with lice. The "lifeguards" at spring valley beach do as much work as John McCain. They seem to be more interested in how much dip they can pack into their lip than if you seriously injure yourself or others. My guess is that they have loads of confidence in the trusty helmets. After hours of trying not to get infected by every bacteria there was, I went into the pavilion to rest in the shade. While there, I observed a man smoking a cigarette, cooking on an open table top grill, fueled by sticks and twigs his daughters had gathered for him. You might think that this is not that bad, but this flame was within about 10 yards of an elderly woman's oxygen tank. I thankfully left shortly thereafter to a place far away, never to...
