Didn’t get to go into the building as it is available only by appointment or for school groups, but the information stand has useful brochures and signage and fun facts about the wildlife, plants and local area. Very easy to walk on trails with an abundant amount of opportunities to view blooming prairie flowers up close and personal, like the Leadplant, Butterfly weed, Prairie Clover, Common Milkweed and more. During our visit we did venture into the section near the beaver pond that passes under oak trees and the flies were incessant and quite bothersome unfortunately, but a refuge employee told us that all the flies will die in approx. 2-3 weeks from the date I’m posting this review.
