Blue Lakes — Attraction in Blue River

The hike is short and the view is gorgeous. We don’t have a car so had to walk all the way to the trail head from the bus stop, which is a bit annoying. We were lucky enough to see some mountain goats close-up.

Also, people really should turn their music down in the nature and be respectful. We saw a goat grazing in the parking lot, and a guy who was parking in scared it away with his loud music...

Nice hike up to Blue Lake on a service road to the dam and then lots of boulders to finish the hike by the lake. What a good start to the trip to Breck and we even saw a pack of Mountain Goats with their cubs run 25 feet from us along the rocks. Stunning location to explore! I accidentally found this place as I was driving, and saw the sign for Blue Lakes two miles ahead-- those two miles were rough driving in my small car. If you have a Jeep/truck I'm sure it's nothing. So worth it either way! These photos were taken mid July. Can't wait to go back...
