Davis Marina — Attraction in Bluff City

My wife and I have eaten here 6 or 7 times over the last 12 months. We enjoy eating outside whenever the weather is warm-the scenery is very nice and watching the water fowl is always fun for us. Our first trip or two was for sandwiches and pizza and these are well-prepared, good value, tasty, and usually eagerly gobbled up. The last few times, however, have been for the fish special on Fridays. The fish is delicious and even my mother, who doesn't like fishy-tasty fish, loved it. (When we went that time, I asked the server to bring my mom a sample to try, and she did!)

The setting is casual, & unpretentious. I cooked in restaurants in my earlier years and this place is always clean, even when they are super-busy!

The best thing about them are the servers! They are always very kind people. They go out of their way to give you a good experience there. They know the menu well, and can help you to customize your food too. They can also tell you the best parts of the daily specials. I am sure that they are delicious, but I like the fish and pizza, too.

When you see the place you may think that you would be in the wrong place but you're not! The food is excellent, the service is too! The casual atmosphere there allows folks to roll right in off the lake, although less these days than before.

The only bad thing is they close early! I always have to remember to get there quick, so I can have time for a great-tasting & relaxing meal with these fine folks.

BOATERS BEWARE! Don’t waste your time or your money. We were told there were four slips available so my husband drives an hour and a half to bring our pontoon up to put it in. When he gets there they tell him that they weren’t really sure if there’s even a spot available he’d have to wait until 8 o’clock tonight when the owner comes back. So my husband said okay and proceeded to wait a little bit then goes back inside and asked if they can call the owner (which they should have offered to do at seven when he first got there, have you heard of customer service?) After calling the owner, he lets them know that he has no slips available. Could someone not have stated this when we called three times today asking about slips and verifying price and what time they closed so we could bring our boat up? This place is a joke, add yourself to a waitlist of a marina that has people who actually know what they are talking about and communicate with...

Fish was the only thing that came out hot but was severely overcooked and flavorless. Rubbery chewy hot rubber, all you can eat. Hush puppies were cold like everything else but had good texture and were good. Fries are basic and were cold. Ranch is too sweet. Tarter sauce isn't my cup of tea but that's objective. They got our order wrong. 3 baked potatoes with butter and sour cream and a fry. They brought two baked potatoes and two cold fries with nothing on the potatoes except mozzarella on one of them. What? Also one of the 4 Cole slaws were gray because of how old it was. You could tell it was the last scrapings of an old tub by how it was a smaller mound than the other three and of course how void of color it was. Oh and you could taste it.
