Definitely a great experience to be accommodated by a friendly staff. We've been looking for a place to join a little bit more the river life and we might just found our spot. For now we do like the atmosphere, the people and the fact that everyone is friendly. The grounds are well taken care of, - if you're looking to stay a few nights with your RV, trailer, Motorhome or tent, that's a beautiful place to enjoy the accommodations of the McIntyre Campground. You might want to call ahead to make sure spots are available. Btw, feel free to bring your boat or Jetski , - there's a boat launch/ramp. Also, there are several BBQs by the day use grounds. Stay safe. (I'll update my review once we've collected more experience)

My husband had made a reservation with the McIntyre campsite office days before we arrived. We received an email confirmation. Yet, we arrived and the office was closed all day on a Wednesday. No note was left for us on the bulletin board and no mention of the closure was mentioned when the reservation was made. We called the office number and just a recording that they were closed. Horrible way to treat people traveling! Try learning from KOA, they are excellent with all their procedures. Oh and by the way, the campsite office NEVER called me back when they opened the next day!!

Horrible customer service! We had talked to them in April of 2023 about having a wedding ceremony here (1 hour span, 1.5 hour maximum) and were told there would be no charge as long as we weren’t having the reception there as well since it isn’t full day use. I was told to call back about a month before the wedding to confirm the details. Fast Foward to about a week ago, One month before the wedding. I called to confirm that everything was still good to go and we were told there was new management and any prior arrangements had been “lost”. so we went ahead and went down there and talked to the park manager and was told it shouldn’t be an issue and if we would like to come the day or 2 before to set up our area it would be best and to call him a week prior so that he can be sure that the lawn was nice and once again, it was confirmed since we won’t be there all day long we wouldn’t need to pay anything. Then today we get a call from a woman, who says she wanted to get more information on our wedding ceremony. i let her know the day and the time we would be there and how long it would last, i made it clear we wouldn’t be there any longer than 1.5 hrs (guests arrival + ceremony time) and she let me know that since there’s new management that whatever was told to me before was incorrect and not up to policy. She let me know that we would have to pay $20 per car just to have our hour long ceremony. she says huddle up and make people carpool it will be cheaper. i said okay so we can have shuttles come then and it would be cheaper? (vanpools fit about 8 people per van) and she says no it will be lots more. so why tell us to huddle up? i then tell her we have had lots of family and friends get married here in the past and we have never had to pay for ceremony’s. On top of this, we have been coming here for YEARS and have lots of gatherings here and never had that issue. she says they charge 3,000 for receptions (more expensive than anywhere in town) and i let her know that we wouldn’t be having a reception there, just the ceremony and once again she said she would have to close the park down so we would need to pay. why do you need to close down the park for 1 hour? its not necessary nor did we ask of that. i told her that $20 per car is a little excessive if we aren’t going to be there for the full day and only an hour and she let me know that guests can feel free to stay after the wedding. How can they if they will be going to the reception site afterwards? MORAL OF THE STORY: you guys should have honored the previous arrangements that were planned with 2 different people prior! instead you want to call and hit us with this huge problem a month before the wedding and having us scramble to find a new ceremony site. Horrible customer service and will never use this park again!

To be clear as well: if this was went about the correct way then we would have no issue paying but the whole run around we have been having to do is ridiculous! and 3,000 bucks for hour...

My family and I planned a roadtrip to Arizona Tucson and we were looking up places to stop by on the way. Peter MCintyre County park sparked my interest because it was a 15 minute detour and the Colorado River ran though the campground. I looked up the entry prices and saw that it was $20.00. My family and I just planned to stop by to take a look at the River and stretch our legs. I called the park and spoke to Tom the day before our roadtrip to ask how much would they charge my family if we just stopped by for an hour. Tom graciously told us we can go for free if we were just planning to stop by for 1 hour. Thank you Tom! The bathrooms were clean and the River with the rock formations were a great view. The park has fire pits, boat docks, picnic tables, showers, and RV parking. The registation office is also a little convience store but with limited options. Im sure we missed a lot of other things the park has to offer but we didn't explore much since were were limited on time. By the way were were there...

Have been coming here for years. McIntyre park has always been fun and accommodating. Booked 3 tent spots and just checked in 5/21/25. Tonight on 5/22/25 the general manager came by and said we only had a reservation for one spot and not for the days we reserved them for. I told him that I had the contract I signed yesterday along with the car tags for the spots and dates and he's said it didn't matter because his phone said it was incorrect. He said it is fine today but we will have to resolve it tomorrow when the office opens even when we offered to go to the office tonight. He also stated that we are not allowed to use generators on site even though nothing on the website or the contract I signed says otherwise. He says they charge for electricity and that has been the rule for over 20 years. Over 10 years of coming here and this is news to us. This has definitely ruined the mood for this memorial weekend and I'm not sure we will be returning. Thanks for all...
