This is another great park in Boca. It has something for everyone. It’s made up of a few different areas including a children's playground, a few ball fields for different sports, Tennis/pickleball courts with tennis center, walking/running path with exercise equipment along the path and a few picnic areas with tables both under shelters and in the open. There is lots of parking for each area. There are bathrooms in each part of the park and all were open each time I’ve been there. The park is well maintained and I’ve seen crews working in different areas of the park. I’ve also seen a park ranger or two each visit. I have not been there on a weekend so can’t be sure how busy it gets. I would guess when sports are being played on each field and the tennis courts are in use, the park is busy and parking might even get a little difficult. The playground has lots of equipment for children to climb on and play around. They even have fountains for the children to run through and keep cool on hot days. Benches are available for parents to sit on and watch their children. The walking/running path is nice but doesn’t go all the way around the park. The park has never been busy when I’ve been there so it’s easy to run on the path by the ball fields and along the park roads/parking lots. Did a 4 mile run which included two laps around the park.

They made some big changes here, specifically to the fields: they are now all artificial turf. It seems like the city is favoring artificial turf over natural grass, likely due to maintenance and upkeep costs, but nothing will ever beat natural grass. It’s also better for the environment. The little pellets still get stuck your shoes, but it seems like they aren’t the rubber variety any longer, so that’s a plus. This park does have a lot of other activities compared to other local parks, so take advantage! Thankfully, there are still some natural grass fields scattered throughout Boca Raton, such as the Spanish River athletic park, directly across from the library.

Long week, long day, time to relax a little bit with tennis, hitting against the wall...Friday August 1st, 2025. I arrive at the park around 8:30 PM , closing time for my activity 9:00 PM. Two unwelcoming employees at the entrance, unhappy with my presence 30 minutes before the closing time. I asked about the closing time and jokingly (obviously!) stated that 10:30 PM would be fine with me... On my way to the wall, the lights were turned off abruptly. Then I am told about a "technicality", policy etc. The lights were turned off on purpose! IS THERE A POLICY TO TURN OFF LIGHTS 30 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING? PARK OPENED TO TAXPAYERS UNTIL 9:00 PM UNLESS SOME.EMPLOYEE ARBITRARILY DECIDES TO BEND THE RULES? MAYBE THESE EMPLOYEES ARE THE OWNERS...ARE THEY? WOULD A DILIGENT EMPLOYEE-SAY A CUSTOMER SERVICE OR SALES ASSOCIATE- ACT LIKE THAT IN A PRIVATE COMPANY? (One could make good sales in 30 minutes...) DO THESE TWO IN THIS CASE REALIZE THAT THEIR SALARY COMES (I guess in part) FROM PARK VISITORS? The park is opened until 9:00 PM for public use!. It is not that employees have to leave at 9! Well, long story short, very bad experience; very disappointed with the poor training of these employees (I also had positive experiences at this park). I plan to personally talk to the manager of this park, formally complain in...

My friends and I have always enjoyed going to Patch Reef Park and had a great experience each time, however, due to my work schedule, the only time I can go there is in the evenings. I don't like to give bad reviews but my experience on 8/1 was not a pleasant one and needs to be addressed. I accompanied my friend who went there to hit tennis balls against the wall and as soon as we entered the building we were greeted with unwelcoming looks by the employees at the front desk. We could sense that we were not welcome. We arrived at around 8:30pm and intended to stay for a maximum of 20 minutes. My friend asked the front desk employees what time was closing time and they replied that it was at 9pm. So, we proceeded to enter the hallway towards the wall and on our way there, one of them intentionally turned the lights off. It was very rude and disrespectful behavior towards any visitor entering the premises. When my friend talked to them about it, they gave him an attitude instead of explaining why they did it. I work in the service industry and I would not do anything to antagonize a guest or visitor even if I was about ready to go home. I hope to bring family and friends to Patch Reef again with a more...
