Kendall Point — Attraction in Boerne

*HONEST REVIEW !!!!!! Bride here! If yr planning yr wed & want 2 have it here PLEASE READ my experience. I was skeptical about posting my review b/c of what i have seen BUT I had to share my opinion & experience 4 other SOON TO BE BRIDES. I had my wed at Kendal Point on 2/26/2022. Here is some things i encountered while planning my wed at Kendal. The owner of the venue wasnt so easy to work w/. Within A few months of booking the venue Kristen was super nice in letting me see the venue & quick in responding when it came to paying. Our seating & dinner, On our contract we signed to have seats for 350 people. 2 wks b4 my wed she emails me stating she will only be seating 240 people b/c thats how many dinner plate i got. She was so concerned that i wasnt feeding everyone & She SAID I NEEDED to feed all 350. I had to call her 4times b4 she called bck to discuss the seating. B4 she agreed to sit every1 she wanted me to tell all my guest THIS WAS MY WED NOT HERS & SHE WAS NOT MAKING DESCIONS, but she was. She insisted we make table #'s for tables not eating after I discussed w. her people not eating will arrive AFTER dinner time. On Our call she was more concerned about what my guest would review her venue rather than concerned 4 helping me. EVERY1 & EVERYTHING needs INSURANCE as IT states on contract. I paid for ins that insured fireworks due to us having sparklers & cold sparks. THE 1st QUESTION I ASKED WHEN GETTING THIS VENUE IS ARE WE ALLOWED TO USE COLD SPARKS SHE SAID YES. On our WED DAY we didnt get to use our coldsparks & clouds on floor B/C our people werent license 4 this. WE COULDNT USE ANY ON THE DAY OF THE WED! She cld of asked for license WEEKS B4 MY WED. Even w/ my ins coving everything I WAS DISSAPOINTED. MY Guest had to Constantly keep asking for TOILET paper. W. 350 guest u wld think she wld be stocked up on paper. I used the RR & had to ask a guest to pass paper. 2 days b4 my wed kristen emails me tht we SHOULD rent her 4 heaters at $55 Each. On her contract it stats she will accommodate w. the weather. NO WHERE did it state she will have heater 4 rent. it wasnt added on her ADD ONS that she sent me but We understood b/c of our bartenders. i told her we will decide DAY OF so we can see how the weather is. I told her about the heaters & she said We are not charging for the heater, just the gas but the email stated HEATERS NOT GAS. We didnt paying 4 the heaters BUT NOT once did she mention anything 2 me on the wed day about paying or placing the heaters. They were placed outside for bartenders. THX U FOR THAT. she was RUDE 2 some of my vendors. she was speaking ugly to my planner. She insisted to have photobooth outside, it was cold so WE HAD IT INSIDE. She told A VENDOR she was surprised b/c we didnt want to pay 4 heaters. NOT THE CASE. i was told that she was standing in the corner day of my wed. w/ a mad face. Multiple guest have tld me this. NO1 wants someone looking upset at their wed. Its rude & unprofessional. The venue is BEAUTIFUL. BUT when we paid for the venue we paid with the intend to use EVERYTHING. She was surprised we were using both bars but we paid for the ENTIRE venue. We were quoted 1 price for security, Days later they went up in price by $20-$10 P/H which is alot of money to added LAST MIN. The increase not her fault but she should of gathered the CORRECT info b4 giving us the quote. I wanted to share this B/C id hate for anyone to experience this. My guest & I still had an amazing time & we enjoyed the night! Cant wait to see what my guest thought about the venue. Thanks...

My wedding took place on 4/7/2018 at Kendall Plantation and I wish every Saturday could be that amazing. Brides let me save you time and tell you to follow your intuition and book this breathtaking venue. When I got engaged I had no clue where to start other then search venues on the famous Knot website. My eyes lit up immediately when Kendall Plantation appeared and it was love at first sight. I am all about research and keeping your options open, but this was the only venue I wanted instantly and I hadn't even seen it in person yet. I had butterflies the morning of my tour because I wanted nothing more then to have my wedding at Kendall Plantation and I prayed the night before my tour hoping I could find an open weekend for my wedding. I was so nervous this venue would be all booked up because hello its GORGEOUS. When my husband and I met Kristen she was completely different than I thought she would be. I had a misconception that Kristen would be arrogant or snobby because her venue is just so beautiful and I was sure every bride in the surrounding area was begging to have their wedding here. Kristen was so welcoming and friendly and so down to earth. She spent quality time that day and gave so many great recommendations on where to begin planning my wedding. My engagement was over a year long and I had my eyes set on a spring wedding in April. Kristen was so accommodating that day and I booked on the spot without ever touring another venue in San Antonio/Boerne. I knew my wedding was going to be at the prestigious Kendall Plantation and I was ecstatic. Fast forward to my wedding day and it was without a doubt the most amazing day of my life. The weather was much cooler then expected but Kristen calmed me down and told me everything would be perfect and I could still have my dream wedding outside. Kristen made me realize that day a wedding is not about all the glitz, glamour, weather, etc. but instead about marrying the love of your life and being surrounded by those you cherish. Your wedding venue should be more than just beautiful but a special place with your similar values and staff members who only want the best for you. I am so thankful and extremely blessed to have married my husband at Kendall Plantation. Thank you again Kristen Voss from the bottom...

Wow, wow, wow… if we could give a higher rating, we would! We honestly cannot describe how truly THANKFUL and IMPRESSED we were by Kendall Point and the owner, Kristin. We began looking for venues in January 2021 and looked at 10 venues in the San Antonio/Hill Country area. Kendall Point was the 1st venue we visited, and we were immediately blown away by the beauty of the ceremony area and the reception hall. We felt like we really “clicked” with Kristin and thought she would be great to work with! Being our first stop, we forced ourselves to keep an open mind and visited 8 (yes 8!) other venues. After shortlisting based on venue size, available dates, price, etc. we ended up selecting Kendall Point for a few key reasons: 1) the venue & scenery are truly stunning (pictures do not do it justice!) 2) working with Kristin 3) the Kendall Point weather contingency plan was a big deal to us and removed all our worries about an outdoor ceremony.

Choosing a venue is one of the biggest decisions and we have absolutely zero regrets, and we would pick this venue again in a heartbeat. After selecting Kendall Point, our favorite part of the “wedding planning experience” was working with Kristin over the ~9 months leading up to our wedding (yes even better than cake and cocktail tastings!). We are both working professionals in our 30s and we were blown away by Kristin’s honesty, kindness and professionalism. Even though her business is weddings, she made us feel like her only clients… always answering emails quickly and providing clear, helpful, honest information that was crucial to making our event a success! As we approached the big day, Kristin was so supportive, helping us create a wedding layout plan and feel confident about our somewhat crazy ideas to have ice cream, alpacas, colorful decorations and other wedding day “extras.” The actual wedding day experience was a dream… everything ran like clockwork and was the venue more beautiful and perfect than we ever could have imagined! We also loved the fun videos that Kristin shared with us afterwards!
