My family and I always have such an amazing time together every single time we go. It's the perfect to go place for every age. Baby/toddler, child, preteen, teenager, adult and even the elderly. So many opportunities to take beautiful scenery pictures and the perfect backdrop for family pictures as well. From hiking, to exploring, walking your dog(s), to playing on the play equipment (and even the more adult work-out equipment), hacky sack, throwing the frisbee, catching the football or kicking around the soccer ball; Hulls Gulch/Camel Back Park is the best place to reconnect with the people that mean the most to us in our lives (family and friends). And to take a much needed break from the electronic distractions in our lives. Nestled into the Boise foothills, it really is such a breathtaking and enjoyable...

What a wonderful place! This is part of the Rivers to Ridges trail system that wanders it way through Boise from the river through the Foothills. There are many running/hiking trails throughout the reserve. You can park at Camel's Back Park and walk up to the upper trails or park further up the road in the lower parking lot or even higher up at the Foothills Learning Center and access the trails from there. There is a huge network of trails that will take you all over the Foothills. You can experience many phases of nature here. In the spring there are beautiful wildflowers and the occasional litter of coyote pups. In the late summer through the fall the rabbit brush flowers. You can also see and smell Basin Big sage and foothills sagebrush all within a stone's throw...

This is a system of interlinked trails and there are many options for trailheads and routes. One can park at Camel's Back Park, at the end of 9th Street, or several turn-outs and lots along Sunset Peak Rd, which is the 8th Street extension up into the foothills, such as at the Foothills Learning Center. At that location there is interpretive signage and interactive displays. We did a 4-mile loop that started with a climb up Camel's Back for views of the city, then dropped down the back side and paralleled the creek and through the Grove. Then we climbed the hills above the Learning Center for some views. Popular mapping applications should help you tailor your route to your...

We hike this constellation of trails daily; what a gift to have these miles and miles of trails blocks from our backyard. That being said, usage has dramatically increased the last couple years, and with it: wear and tear on the trails, garbage, erosion and a decline in trail etiquette. It is incumbent upon us all to maintain these trails so that they can be lovingly hiked, run and biked for generations to come.

Camel Back Park has a wonderful children's playground. It also features outdoor exercise machines. The park includes picnic tables, tennis courts and immense open grass fields. If you enjoy hiking the park offers entry points to Boise's fabulous trial system. From atop the park's name sake, Camel Back hill you'll view Boise, the Treasure Valley, Owyhee Mountains and the Boise Front.

👍👍👍👍 Perfect Location... When you go to Camels Back Park it feels like you're out of town, when you're simply so close to downtown 👍👍👍👍It's amazing that you can hike, take the kids to a play ground and work out at a free mediocre gym all in one place. 👎🏻Construction currently cuts off access to a main place of the hiking area so be prepared for that.
