Easy approach (we used the elementary school parking lot) and appropriate for multiple ages/abilities. We watched while some people jumped through all the water falls, but remained down must of the time. Our 2 and 7 year old called it 'the best experience ever' 😁

Great spot but be careful. School employee (the parking is next to a school) told us the falls are the most deadly in VT. Would recommend microspikes and staying clear of the water this time of the year. Keep dogs on leash and close to you for safety.

This place is incredibly beautiful. From the falls to the Mountain Views. The trails were nicely marked and well taken care of. Great swimming hole or if you just want to sit by and watch the cascades of water. Very easy to get to.

BEWARE!! THEY TOW!! We made the mistake of parking on the side of the road alongside others, only to come back to find my car towed. IT GETS WORSE!! There is NO SINAGE WITH A NUMBER TO CALL AND NO CELL RECEPTION IF YOU FOUND ONE TO CALL. We do not live in this state, we do not have anyone to call to pick us up in the middle of nowhere. We have to hitchhike to the tow place only to be told you have to pay $150 CASH to get your car BUT they have NO ATM!! So we have to hitchhike with another kind soul to drive us to a store and back. This is not right to do to people 😢 Very stressful!! I WAS TOLD BY THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER, THEY PULL EVERYONE'S CAR..ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!!

They will ruin your day for Money!!! They think...

This is NOT a safe place to swim. Approximately 3 miles upstream is a failing 1960's-era, tertiary water treatment system that serves about 600 people at Bolton Valley. Water above, at and below the pot holes (known by locals as the 'butt holes') has consistently high levels of e.coli. Last time I swam there was in 1984. Just because you're in Vermont doesn't mean the...

The Bolton Potholes are a treasure and have recently been improved by the Vermont River Conservancy. While The Potholes feel like they're in the middle of nowhere, they're actually in the middle of a neighborhood -- enjoy responsibly by packing out what you bring in, parking appropriately and showing respect for the resident and...
