A hidden gem in small-town Texas just off the highway.
This place is amazing. The staff is great, prices reasonable, and the animals are well tended too.
Drive through a gravel path for a short but extremely personable safari trip and interact very closely with various deer species, ostrich, emu and even wildebeast. Not all of the animals feel like interacting but several of them are very eager and this may change as the weather does. You must drive extremely slow and be very careful no animal is trying to pick up food near your tires as you drive off. Be very respectful of the animals. Those that came to the car were all friendly and had a lot of personality. The ostrich were fun and not at all afraid to peck food out of your hand.
After the drive, you can visit the other half of the park that has kangaroo (even a baby joey), giraffe you can feed for a separate price, lemurs to look at, goats, a zebra, sheep, Llama and alpaca that can all be fed and petted except the lemurs. There are also giant tortoise and a sloth as well as some large birds. The best part was holding a baby kangaroo and feeding the camels. They were a lot of fun and absolutely will try to steal your food cup.
There is one bathroom on site with a changing table. The facilities are clean and there are cleaning supplies there to clean up after yourself.

Read moreOur family had an absolutely amazing experience at North Texas Safari Park! We’ve been to drive-through safaris before while traveling out of state, but we wanted something closer to home. Coming from the Frisco area, we found this gem online and were thrilled to see they offered animal encounters—which took our visit to the next level!
We did both the lemur encounter and the sloth encounter, and let me tell you each one was an unforgettable experience. Interacting up close with these incredible animals was beyond anything we expected. To top it off, we even got to see their brand-new baby kangaroo, which completely made our day!
One thing that stood out to me was how clean and well-maintained the park was. Unlike some other animal parks, there was no overwhelming odor, which was a pleasant surprise. Another huge perk was their unlimited feed option it was nice not having to constantly buy refills every time we ran out of food for the animals.
To make the experience even better, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner at the entrance, and he couldn’t have been more welcoming. He took the time to chat with our family, and his passion for the park and the animals was clear.
If you’re looking for a fun, interactive, and family-friendly animal adventure in North Texas, we highly recommend North Texas Safari Park. We’ll...
Read moreNorth Texas Safari Park is such a hidden gem! 🌟 I absolutely loved the combination of a safari-style drive-through and a hands-on petting zoo — it gives you the best of both worlds. The variety of animals was amazing, from big safari favorites to interactive encounters like feeding the giraffes and even walking through with the kangaroos 🦒🦘.
One of the highlights for me was the unlimited feeding cup refills — it made the whole experience so much more fun since you can keep interacting with the animals without worrying about running out. The park also felt very clean and well-kept, with hand sanitizer stations throughout, which made it super family-friendly.
The staff was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which really added to the positive experience. The vibe is warm, kid-friendly, and enjoyable for all ages. Between the close animal encounters, the thoughtful setup, and the great staff, this place really exceeded expectations.
