Great experience! $8 entry fee, plenty of available parking on a hot Wednesday afternoon! Boardwalk from parking to beach is less than a 2 minute walk. Boardwalk also crosses (WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE) to restrooms, beach wheelchairs available (we saw 2), nature learning center (outdoor hut with local animal/ nature info), small butterfly pond/ garden... Vending machines, outdoor foot wash/ shower stations and clean restrooms that were properly stocked. One of the best beach experiences we've had while traveling. The beach water was clear, calm, and clean. Not too many people at all, everyone was well spread out and seemed mindful to stay socially distanced. The drive through the million dollar homes and condos was absolutely beautiful. Red bick road and palm tree lined, running along the water, you just keep going until you get to the pay station. We saw tortoises, pelicans, sand pipers, and seagulls of course. Lots of shells to pick up and the silky white sand stayed cool under our feet in 80+ degree weather. Our only complaint were the biting black flies so we just kept moving to avoid them, mostly just annoying. We read they're only prominent in Florida in the Spring. Highly recommended, we'll be back if we come to Fort...

I am not a beach-goer, but I enjoyed this one. I imagine it gets very crowded during season, but it was manageable for the beginning of May. The sand is fairly fine with patches of ground shell and we found several very nice shells, including an intact Florida Fighting Conch.

The water was clear and green during our visit -- a big change from the photos I'd seen of all the Red Tide along the coast last year. There's an $8 parking fee for paved parking. The women's bathroom was clean and well stocked; there's a changing room as well; there are showers outside to get the sand off your feet and wash the salt water out of your suit as you are leaving.

We saw beach wheel-chairs available and a great boardwalk to protect the native plants. There's a learning center between the parking lot and bathrooms.

It was also a great day for birding; we saw a snowy egret fishing in the surf, a few pelicans, lots of sandpipers , a few seagulls and a half dozen osprey caught some great fish during our morning visit. We also saw red-bellied woodpeckers and cardinals by the...

We love this beach & spend a significant amount of time on this beach when we are in Florida for the winter. However, this season we have really noticed a drastic downfall in the maintenance side of the park. The bathrooms are very poorly maintained, if at all. The bathrooms are filthy & no toilet paper anywhere. When we arrived at the beach this morning at 9:45 there was NO toilet paper & a female ranger was near by, so I told her & she said she would see what she could do about it. We left the beach at 2:30 pm & still no paper & filthy bathroom. A maintenance man was just arriving to pick up the trash so we told him about it. He did bring toilet tissue over to the bathroom. According to the bathroom cleaning & maintenance sheet posted on the door, that bathroom had not been cleaned since the 12th & today is March 16th. We no longer can buy seasonal passes to the beaches so therefore have to pay $8 per day to visit & enjoy the beach, the least Collier County could do is provide us with clean bathrooms &...

Went to this preserve so I love wild life. My meanly interest was to walk the trail. Saylor Trail 1 1/2 miles. My surprise, at the trailhead, the corner with the city trash big container full and bunch of shopping bags around everywhere, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and all kind of beach and garbage...Smelling very bad, also coming from the restroom. Very disappointment , meanly for the travelers or tourist that have to pay $8.00 to go in the park....Free for Collier resident with the updated sticker.... The first part of the trail was easy, nice walk throwout a shady, natural sandy path, beach side with many access to the beach. found some wild flowers, the tortoise a couple of time, .....On the way back , the other part of the trail, all nice same around , except the gravel path , the make really hard the walk for any kind of shoes.....The Sea Oat well conserved, and beautiful sun set ....The park close at sunset....

Beautiful beach with clear water and tons of shells. We have a place on Vanderbilt Beach but while there in mid July the water was very brackish due to rains the previous week. While kayaking one day we discovered the water at Barefoot was clearer. We drove to the state park, paid the $10 to park, and walked the 12 minutes on the trail to the beach. Totally worth it. However, beware of mosquitoes on the trail. I’d recommend walking along the beach, which is easily accessible from both state park lots, instead unless you have bug spray. All of us were bitten terribly. We did see the cute turtle pictured above on the trail, however. The beach was empty except for one other family. To get to the beach, you have to enter through a private gate entrance off Bonita Beach Road. You simply tell them you are headed to the state park and they will allow you through. Had no idea this was there despite having driven by many other times.

Barefoot Beach is probably my favorite beach and we have walked them all many times here in SW Florida. Lots of great shelling and to the south is Wiggins Pass with lots of views and boats of all sizes . There is a mile long nature trail but the nice beach is the real draw. Concessions for beach and water play items. Restrooms and some food items. Lots of parking but it does get full in high season especially around the holidays. Interesting drive through a mile or two of luxury homes and condos to get to the parking entrance. You will like this beach. We were there on August 19 and a conservationist was doing checks of the turtle nests 3 days after the main hatching looking for baby turtles stuck in the nest and counting shells to see how many were hatched. Very Interesting.
