I’ve been to several FLSP’s now and this may just be my favorite one so far. It was just beautiful, lots of mangroves and winding paths. There’s a gift shop and bathroom/ main area where you park, and they have a trolley out to the beach which is really nice because it’d be a pretty long walk otherwise. We spent most of our time on the beach, and even on a stormy day it was just stunning. There weren’t many waves and the water was crystal clear really far out so it made for a great day to find shells, and there was no shortage of shells to look at. I mean, in some areas they were literally just piled up like you would find snow piles in the north. Even found two whole, good-sized sand dollars! We walked all the way down to the end of the beach and back just looking around in the water and that was super fun and made the time fly by. At the end of the beach there’s some woody parts that are fun to look at and previous visitors have kind of decorated them with shells and I thought that was neat. I took a lot of pictures of the water because the colors were just break taking and so defined. You can also see Sanibel Island and the bridge over it from Lovers Key, just a lot of great views. There’s an option to rent kayaks and paddle boards and go along the mangroves which I’d like to come back and do at some point. They have bathrooms and rinse stations, and a small restaurant right on the beach as well, which a lot of SPs don’t and it’s nice to have everything you need yet it still feels mostly untouched by humans and it’s so quiet compared to other beaches. Love...

Lover's Key beach was our favorite beach that we visited while in Florida, we were there on March 5, 2025, our last day of vacation. We spent a lot of money on parking fees while visiting other beaches in Fl., so $8 a day that included parking, tram rides, wonderful bathroom facilities and a full day at the beach, seemed very reasonable. My husband rented a $9 chair and read a book, while I hunted for seashells and found many to take back to Wisconsin. We had a marvelous day, everyone we met was wonderful, too. We couldn't have had a better beach day, but it got better... almost at the end of the day, I found, or it found me.. A Junonia shell. It was high hide, the waves were strong and wild and wonderful (I was at the water's edge). I had been finding many Fl. fighting conch shells and was very excited about them. I was looking down at my feet, when the water washed away the sand I was standing on, and revealed my priceless treasure. It was one of the most exciting experiences of my life, (and I just celebrated my 68th birthday). I never dared to imagine that I would be so blessed to find a rare Junonia Shell. Soon after, the clouds darkened and we thought a terrible storm would come, so we had a little adventure running to the tram and car. The clouds blew on and nothing became of them. One of the happiest days of my life, one that I will never forget! We love...

What a stunning knock dead gorgeous place. Beautiful beaches, estuaries, and Discovery Center.

We first stopped at the Discovery Center to get the lay of the land, so to speak. We were met by Glenda, a docent who volunteers her time here. Very pleasant lady and very knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of our questions, and she pointed out things to do after leaving the Discovery Center.

The Discovery Center is amazing. Very well put together, giving you an excellent overview of the biodiversity of the marine life and land loving creatures. There are a lot of interactive displays for kids of all ages. There is a telescope there where you can spy in on a nesting pair of Ospreys. We strongly recommend that you visit this place first.

From there, we walked over and took the trolley down to the beach. The beach has been combed down to a depth of three feet to remove the hurricane derbis from hurricane Ian less than two years ago. Be careful if you go into the water. It is strongly recommended that you wear shoes in the water. Many hazards may still be on the ocean floor that can not be seen. There are restrooms near the beach area.

There are lots of trails, and you are allowed to ride your bikes on these trails.

Again, it is a must-see place during your travels...

The Lovers Key Welcome and Discovery Center is a great FREE kid-friendly spot to stop at if your on Fort Myers Beach.🌊🐚 There are so many interactive features and you get to see what different types of environments exist in the Fort Myers area. Don't forget to check what free classes or activities they might be offering at the time!
