This place is a respiratory outbreak waiting to happen. We're in the middle of cold, flu, and RSV season and yet there are several people hacking up lungs all throughout the facility. No masks, not covering their mouths, nothing but complete disregard for anyone else but themselves. They weren't wiping down the equipment when they were done coughing all over it either. The management has done nothing to help prevent transmission of disease: there are no signs posted asking sick patrons to wear masks, cover their mouths, or any type of preventative measures. Apparently no one in the entire facility cares about infectious disease in the middle of winter. On top of it all there are usually 15-20 senior citizens in there who are especially at risk of communicable disease. Plus, at any given moment there are lifeguards and kung fu people walking around the facility barefoot. The floors are already disgusting, (they don't clean them often), but then you've got people wandering around the entire area with their damn bare feet. Do not go here unless you're okay with contracting some type of communicable disease. I'd strongly suggest being up to date with all your vaccinations before you even consider going here. Stock up on antifungal medication, too. Luckily Planet Fitness just opened at Legends.

Read moreA wonderful, well-managed facility staffed by friendly, helpful people. I joined the YMCA in Houston and took advantage of the policy that allows me to use YMCAs nationwide. When I was visiting my parents in the Kansas City suburbs, I noticed the closest Y was in Bonner Springs. I went to the facility almost every day during my two-week visit to swim and lift weights. The lap pool was never crowded and staffed by lifeguards who played cool alt rock music. There is also a “warm pool” for swimming lessons and water aerobics. I took my elderly father there, and he had a great time doing his water aerobics routine. He wants to join the Y now. The weight room was well maintained, and I had all the equipment I needed. The locker room and showers were clean. This is one of the best YMCAs I’ve...
Read moreThe Bonner Springs Y is a great place to go work out. Do cardio swim whatever that you’re looking to do it has it. It is remarkably clean well lit plenty of mirrors. The only thing that I could see as an area of opportunity is to expand the spacing in between the benchesincline benches and other pieces that are just way too close together. It’s like working your way through a maze it’s just way way too close, but like I said this is an area of. Incline benches and other pieces that are just way too close together. It’s like working your way through a maze it’s just way way too close but like I said, this is a area of improvement that could be done either by converting a room from aerobic to freeway use or Expansion in the future. This would be an area that would be well needed, and...
