Read moreParked in downtown Bonner’s Ferry and biked the loop and back today with the kids. Spring weather was fantastic and we relaxed halfway at the education center which was really cool and had some interactive exhibits. Views of the Selkirk mountains were stunning. There were some Boy Scouts coming off the Myrtle Falls hike that were doing some nature activities along the pond pathway. We biked up Westside Rd. to the Cascade Pond Overlook before riding back to the loop and finishing on the gravel ‘auto tour’ section and then back into town. Read moreThis is a beautiful place to visit. You have to be careful right now because there have been cougar sightings. We actually saw a young moose at one of the vehicle turnouts. Of course we did not get out of the car. They can be very aggressive! But he was up close and personal, and rubbing up against the wooden fence for quite a while. I wondered where Mommy was... I'll post a picture of him shortly. And there were was a bald eagle pair nested in the trees as we drove into the park. Good bathroom...
