Beautiful hike with huckleberries right along the trails. We arrived in the afternoon, and even in Aug, I'd wear pants and bring a light jacket. As soon as the sun disappeared it was definitely chilly at that altitude. Great for kids 8 and up. Very rough roads near the top, a truck is definitely the way to go. Vault toilet at the top was out of supplies, bring your own TP and hand sanitizer. Parking lot was full even on a Sunday afternoon. You can drive right up to the short boardwalk to the first lake if you get a spot in the parking lot. I have minor physical limitations related to a back injury, the hike in to the second lake was right on the edge of my limitations. I found a hiking pole very helpful. Have fun....

The trout don’t like to be fished, instead they fish you.
Please stay home in your comforting house...

And the sights from up high are breathtaking and hard to beat! Highly recommend as a bucket...
