Six Wicket Vineyards — Attraction in Boonsboro

My wife and I visited Six Wickets Winery in Myersville, MD with another couple and had an amazing experience. Kathy gave us a fantastic tour of the vineyard—she explained the history of the winery, the different types of grapes, and how the vines are cared for. You could tell she was passionate and incredibly knowledgeable.

After the tour, we enjoyed a tasting on their beautiful screened-in porch overlooking the vineyards and mountains. It was the perfect setting—peaceful, scenic, and relaxing. Kathy also walked us through the winemaking process, from grape to bottle, which made the tasting even more enjoyable.

The winery is by appointment only, but don’t let that stop you from visiting. They were very accommodating and fit us in with just 45 minutes’ notice. The personal attention made the experience even more special.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ed who took us on a tour of the vineyard by golf cart. Ed gave us background knowledge about the growing industry and the practices their vineyard uses. As we concluded tour, he gave us a short lesson on croquet. We ended the tour, and were greeted by Kathy for our tasting. The aesthetic of the screened in porch was perfect, it was ventilated and the fan made it surprisingly cool especially on a hot day. My husband and I visited today and had an amazing experience. Ed was so welcoming and informative on our tour and he and Kathy were very helpful and gracious during our tasting. Although we didn’t expect it, we absolutely loved all the wines we tasted, especially their Albariño and Cabernet Franc. And after our tasting, we hd an amazing view from their comfortable screened in porch to enjoy a glass and our picnic lunch.
