We booked the shindig tent for my daughters 4th birthday party October 2018. I had actually never been to Brookhollow's Barnyard and didn't know what to expect besides what I had seen on the website. I created my decorations and showed up morning of the party. It was a really cool spot. Right next to the animals so you could watch the goats and it made for a pretty backdrop. I picked a pumpkin theme and it really looked great at the farm. The kids all absolutely loved the party. The animals were so cute and everything was clean. They had a great variety of animals as well. Each child got a cup of carrots to feed them and I think the adults liked that more than the kids lol. They had little sheds set up with different activities such as corn kernals, kitchen playset etc. My daughter and her friends didn't want to leave the kitchen shed....It had rained a lot the day before and I was really surprised that is wasn't too muddy....There was also an area with an outdoor playground that the kids loved and again minimal mud considering. The staff were all really nice and helpful from booking to the end of the party. All of the parents still tell my their kids are talking about the party. We will be back to enjoy the...
Read moreI did not appreciate the RUDE experience I had with a staff member here.
I’ve happened to see cars drive by near this farm and thought it would be a nice way to support a local business, especially during COVID. I was in the neighborhood and decided to visit.
As I waited on line to enter (mind you — this farm has no signage or information ) I was addressed not pleasantly by the entrance staff member. I might not have known there was reservations involved, but I didn’t appreciate her attitude (fake nice) and hard time I encountered. I had offered to pay with cash, provide my credit card details to be billed later or contact information. I wanted to HELP them, but instead was turned away.
I wasn’t opposed to paying or following rules, but there was many ways to accommodate the situation far better (like bill be later or have me make a reservation for another day- in which I’d use for today). For context, I visited on my birthday even and offered to share my ID (not saying I deserve special treatment).
All things considered with what little there is available - a nice gesture, especially difficult times to be a win/win for both parties would have been...
Read moreThis was a cute place to take young kids for a few hours, but I don't see us going back. It is a farm setting where you can see and feed animals--goats, pigs, horses, cows, llamas--take a train ride, hayride, play in a large sandbox, and play in various playhouses and on outdoor toys. There is a playhouse filled with dried corn with shovels and dump trucks that was a huge hit for my son. There is also a small playground with two fun play structures for kids. The grounds are beautiful and nice to walk. The only negative I could say is that it seems pricey for what it is. You have to pay for everything separately, admission, for carrots, a bucket to carry said carrots, hayride, train ride, etc. There is even a cute area with electronic trains, but you have to put a quarter in the slot to see the trains move for a short amount of time, about a minute or so. Parking is confusing because it's behind a commercial area. No bathrooms, just one lone port a potty. Again, a fun day with sweet animals, but the pricing leaves something...
