The visitor center, sometimes referred to as the Alan Bible Visitor Center, is located off Boulder City Parkway (Route 93), in Boulder City. The center has plenty of parking, including large size RVs, restrooms, walking paths, a several shaded sitting areas around the building. Inside the visitor center you will find a staffed information desk with very friendly and knowledgeable Rangers, who are more than happy to assist you. There is a gift shop towards the back as well as a small museum/display area with interactive displays, a small movie screening area and numerous informational displays about the area, including wildlife. Read moreThis is a great visitor center conveniently located near Lake Mead. I walked in, grabbed a map of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and went to the park’s gift shop. I perused through the items there and Athen left the visitor center because the visitor center’s exhibits were closed because of COVID. I liked that the wall of the visitor center facing Lake Mead is made of glass so you could see the lake from the visitor center. Read moreGreat National Recreation Area (NRA) Visitors Center! Located just a couple miles down from Hemenway Park (where you can often see Bighorn Sheep grazing and relaxing in the shade!!!) Don't forget to walk around outside to see the cactus and other local flora, but inside is a treat with a learning center, skulls and shells for you to touch and a large gift-shop full of souvenirs and cool stuff to inspire your children.
