I have walked and mountain biked here many times.

Biking the big loop is a very different experience if you travel clockwise vs counter clockwise. I find clockwise more challenging physically and counter clockwise is short fun sprints.

Every person I have brought here likes the change of terrain - plus, it’s beautiful when the fog lifts.

It can be warm and dusty late in the summer, but it’s always great.

A while ago I think there was a discrepancy between the website and the location on the hours, so check or call before coming. They do close this park if dangerous or bad weather is expected and for park maintenance, just check ahead of time.

One of my favorite parks in Santa Cruz - and it’s...

Absolutely a hidden treasure! This is arguably the cleanest well kept hiking trails, parking lot, and restrooms I have ever seen in California. All trails are clearly marked and have different levels of difficult (moderate being the most difficult currently). My friend and I opted to do the .5 mile trail to the vista lookout! 10/10 suggest for anybody that wants an escape and doesn't want to deal with the crowds of other parks locally! Upon entering we spoke with Aaron who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the park, trails, wildlife, future plans, etc! It was great to speak with someone so...

Dogs are not allowed. There are cops and park rangers penalizing dog owners for bringing them along on hikes and outings on these public lands. Meanwhile, they do nothing about homeless and vagrants who have invaded and are destroying our neighborhoods, beaches and roadside. These people are disrespectful, dangerous and dirty, and yet the city is more concerned about dogs at parks...

Confusing rules. The website says open until 6pm so I drove all the way out here arriving at 5pm. Gate was locked and sign says gate locks an hour before closing. So essentially, the place closes at 5pm. Additionally, there's a sign that says no hiking or biking, but that's exactly what these trails were created for 🤔. Hope to check this place out some other time...

The terrain is so different from any other trails around here. It has a great view of the ocean. Well-built trails and friendly stewards. Note that you need to register to use this park. It's owned by land trust organizations, not the state or county.
