This is my favorite park in Boulder. There is always room in the parking lot, unlike many other parks, and there is a new, modern bathroom facility. There is a spectacular view of the flatirons from the lake. The lake is beautiful, with a scenic arched bridge connecting 2 peninsulas of land that jut into the lake. There is a cement walking path going all the way around the lake. There are also dirt footpaths going along the shore of the east and south sides of the lake. You can take footpaths out onto little tiny spits of land that jut into the lake on the south shore and feel like you're alone in the wilderness on your little spit of land. The picture I posted on Google Maps is from one of those points. The lake attracts waterfowl, not just the usual Canadian geese and red winged blackbirds, but also grebes, and once I saw a black crowned night heron.
