The views here while you visit the great outdoors of Colorado are spectacular, I’d have to say coming at sunset is the most beautiful time to come as you can capture the most breathtaking views of the sunset bouncing off the water and reflecting the reflection of the mountain. We came out here to one wheel and play disc golf which was pretty cool to play considering the mountain is your backdrop. Not too crowded for disc golf although it was freezing after the sun went down.

BEST PARK IN BOULDER!!! My husband & I love Harlow Platta Community Park! What’s not to love...there’s a Rec center, tennis courts, bike & walking path around a mini lake, and our favorite...a 9 round disc golf course with the best view of the flat irons! This park always makes my afternoons brighter. What a gorgeous treasure and one of my favorite spots in all of Boulder!

Best park I’ve been to in Colorado. It feels like a hidden gem. I was truly blown away by the beauty in this park and it made it clear why Boulder is such a desirable place to live. Quiet and away from the chaos of downtown, it really felt magical. Pictures don’t do it justice. Also, there were goats!

This is my favorite park in Boulder. There is always room in the parking lot, unlike many other parks, and there is a new, modern bathroom facility. There is a spectacular view of the flatirons from the lake. The lake is beautiful, with a scenic arched bridge connecting 2 peninsulas of land that jut into the lake. There is a cement walking path going all the way around the lake. There are also dirt footpaths going along the shore of the east and south sides of the lake. You can take footpaths out onto little tiny spits of land that jut into the lake on the south shore and feel like you're alone in the wilderness on your little spit of land. The picture I posted on Google Maps is from one of those points. The lake attracts waterfowl, not just the usual Canadian geese and red winged blackbirds, but also grebes, and once I saw a black crowned night heron. There is a high school just east of the lake, up on the hill above it, but I have never seen the park overrun with hoards of students, so that is...

This South Boulder park always has ample parking. A few years ago they added a nice restroom as well. The lake is the center piece of this park and beautiful to walk around. Right next to the South Boulder rec center, Fairview high school and the Shanahan Ridge trail. The only downside is that the lake attracts a lot of geese so there is always a lot of goose...
