Great place to stop when the Cape traffic is backed up and you've got a carful of kids (plus one husband) who need to pee "right NOW, Mom!" and you can't stop the constant refrains of "Are we there yet?" "I'm hungry," "I'm thirsty," and "She's touching me!" coming from the back seat. This recreation area is very well maintained and always monitored. There's no fee for parking, the restrooms are right there as you pull in on the right and they are clean. There are trash and recycling receptacles for the million and one Kit Kit wrappers and Coke cans that you gave everyone (along with their electronics) to shut them up so you could drive in peace. There's a big field, volleyball net, and swings so when you take away access to all of the aforementioned items, you have a place to shoo everyone off to. If you're one of those Pinterest Moms, there is a covered pavilion with tables to eat your homemade organic wraps with all-natural flavored sparkling fruit water and freeze dried fruit or a place for your kids to grab a slice of the pizza you grabbed on the way.
