Bridger bowl is an awesome Ski Resort!!! We have never skied before except once at West Virginia but had a terrible experience with the coaches and did not learn much. This time we decided to go there with 3 kids age 10,12 and 16. We live in Tennessee. We read good reviews about the Coach John Saam, and we requested him to be our coach and we were so excited to have him.
He coached our whole family for 4 and half day, and we all learned so much from him. We did not even know how to put on our skis and in the end both me and my husband were at Alpines, and kids reached almost to the top and did quite a bit of difficult trails. They all were so confident before we left. Coach John was very patient and made us take baby steps and once we were comfortable what he taught us, he took us to another hill/trail. He stressed on the technique all the time. He was very sensitive to each person needs and limitation, and desire of being more challenged, and was able to work with all of us so well.
Without his coaching we do not think we would have done so well and had such a memorable and safe vacation.
The whole staff was very good and friendly and attentive. They would remind us if we did not have our mask especially during the lifts and taking the tubes, to ensure everyone stays safe there. I fell first few times getting off the lift and they did not hesitate to slow the lift for me until I got every comfortable. And still they would ask if they wanted me to slow down until I said no I can do it.
Food could be little better and little cheaper. But overall we had a great time and would be going there again soon, so we can get same coach to train us much better!! THANK YOU Coach JOHN SAAM... as your other student mention YOU ARE THE BEST , I AGREE...
Read moreFirst trip to Bridger Bowl and had a great day. Sore and tired legs from ripping Big Sky the day before. Bridger has a small mountain vibe with helpful staff and nice lifties. I have been skiing for 50 years in the northwest and have never skied a mountain like Bridger Bowl. Very unique in that high altitude, out of bounds tracking is encouraged. I was shocked at the amount of skiable terrain in the expert , technical category. We didn't hit a big powder day but I could see the potential for Epic turns. We ended the day by doing a long hike up to the ridge. I was apprehensive about that being so tired and sore. We packed our skis and we're getting ready to head up when a voice like an angel said "I'll carry your pack up". It was an angelic ski paroler named Molly and I could not have been happier. If you are lucky, old and fat like me you too may hear "let me take that up for you". Their ski patrol has a pomma lift the rises the last 500 feet and they are doing laps regularly. Molly had no idea what that meant to me as I had been trying to keep up with my 28 year old son for two days. I could of kissed her!! Don't count of this service if you go but know that occasionally the patrolers will carry your skis up. This blew my mind and allowed this old guy to complete my trip to Montana with a feeling of awe. Where else will you find that kind of appreciation for advanced skiers and their sacrifice for finding the good good.? Not at Big Sky, that's for sure. I am storm watching from now on so I can drive the 500 miles overnight just to get to Bridger on a big day. Thanks BB for a life long memory. Gordon...
Read moreLet me guess: You saw the ranch dispenser on the 2nd floor and thought, “wow, if aspen is where the beer flows like wine, bridger is where the ranch is always on tap”. But alas, it doesn’t work! Sometimes the light comes on, and maybe you get it to dispense a small dollop. But then nothing. There is ranch in the reservoir, but it won’t dispense. Your condiment cup lies empty.
Ranchless. Darkness. Abyss.
Do not despair! For there is one who knows how to dispense the ranch! He is known as Ranchy McRanchface, and he is a true hero for the common man, who dispenses for all! He knows the true way of the ranch dispenser. He could dispense all the ranch Bridger’s cellars can hold, to all those who should desire! If you see him, ask, “Ranchy, dost thou dispense for thee?” and he shall surely dispense you with no less than thrice-cup ranch. And know that when you sit at a second-floor table, and see a dollop of ranch spilled across the surface, know Ranchy is close, and will forever be your friend.
Why am I am telling you all this? How do I know so much? Well, I know Sir McRanchface all too well. Better than most, in fact. For I have a long-kept secret is… which I shall finally reveal in this very review! And this secret is…he is I! I am him! I am Ranchy McRanchface. Haha it was...
