We have been coming to Jennings with our daughter since she was able to walk, it has a special place in my heart! One of the many wonderful thing about Jennings is that there are trails for just about any level of hiker. There is a paved trail for wheelchairs & individuals with walkers & a nice gazebo at the end, as well as a more challenging long hiking trail for a little bit more adventure, and a mostly flat trail if you go across the Prairie. We have a favorite wading spot by the bridge on the Nature Center side. The Nature Center is open during the day. We’ve have hiked at Jennings spring, summer, fall, and winter and it is a longtime family...

DISCLAIMER: I worked here as a paid intern. So first of all I just wanted to say this is truly an amazing place. They know how to manage the trails, but also keep the beauty of nature. They offer free education programs for kids, amazing trails to walk on, (Thanks Dale and Jamie) an abundance of wildlife and nature, and extremely friendly staff! If you haven't, check this place out and walk your dog (or just yourself) on the various well managed trails and see the true beauty of nature. -Chris T. P.S. Thank you Wil for this amazing opportunity! I will be sure to visit...

It's fine. I don't go there often bc I don't like ticks and their seems to be a lot of poison ivy. Some parts of the trails are narrow and steep so for me, it's not as enjoyable because Im always having to watch where i step, I do like the wooded flat areas much better. I would visit a lot more often if their was a dog park. I've used the pic nic area but it looks over the parking lot?! And, their are not enough bathrooms. That said, I'm grateful for the undeveloped area and it would be so sad if this where a walmart... thank goodness their is some place for nature...

Great place located just a short drive from Moraine State Park. Plenty of hiking trails, through fairly diverse ecosystems. In short, our hike took us through forest, marsh, wetland, and prairie biomes. The rent-able pavilion at the Blazing Star Prairie would be great for a picnic or get together. Even though the education center wasn't open for our visit, there was still plenty to do during our visit. Two spots are available for electric vehicle charging as well. Definitely worth a trip.

I walked the 2.27 mile loop through the prairie and down across the wetlands, and I was really impressed by how well laid out and maintained the trail was! Though there aren't blazes, the trail itself was kept clear of debris and easy to see at all times, and the walk seemed pretty easy for most skill levels. The nature center is also very nice, and even has souvenirs, t-shirts and local honey! Definitely worth a stop for a fun hike.
