We stayed at a house that was a 10 min walk from the point for a week. It’s a beautiful area and extremely nice folks we passed on the way. One day we were coming back from the store and drove the point and I took a right in to the park thinking it went further in to check it out to maybe walk that evening. I was immediately stopped by park police asking me what I was doing. I told him just checking out the area. He was very stern and rude saying didn’t you see that 6 foot sign at the entrance ?? No sir I was serious not paying attention just knew it was a state park and wanted to explore by car before we did it by foot. The beach is clean, spacious, and has a nice mix of sandy shore and grassy picnic areas, making it perfect for families, friends, or just a peaceful solo visit. The views of Long Island Sound are beautiful, especially around sunset.
There’s plenty of room to swim, relax, or launch a kayak, and the playground and picnic tables make it a great choice for a full day outing. Parking is easy, and the whole area is well-maintained by the town.
It’s a local treasure that balances relaxation with fun activities—definitely a place worth visiting...
Read moreAn absolutely great beach! Definitely our favorite beach in CT, with great sand plenty of shade, amenities, and great views with a park adjacent! The only issue is parking. There is a very sizable parking lot that is for Branford residents only. It is consistently not even close to full, but they do not offer any parking option or day pass for out of towners. Instead non residents must fight for the literal 5 parking spaces on the pier. So if you're not from Branford and wish to go, make sure you allow for a little while to find a space, but it is...
