Well let me tell you, I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable way to spend an afternoon with my lovely wife than my visit to the Atchafalaya Basin Air Boat swamp tour. I seen Beauty, Living Nature, and learned the History of this beautiful area. And you know I'm here in what they call winter, I can only imagine what a colorful place this would be when the swamp is in full glory. Our Captain and guide was very knowledgeable of this area because he grew up here, and also had a great sense of humor. I was very lucky to be made his Copilot for this trip, and due to it being cool on today's trip he made sure we were all comfortable and handed out onboard blankets so we could enjoy our ride. Also headphones are available for your ears to protect your hearing due to the noise of the boat motor. A very safe and thoughtful operation. Oh did I tell you that the guide pulls up and stops everything to call in Alligators so you can get a up close look at them, again very knowledgeable and safe answering your questions. The whole trip takes 1.5 hours and with everything you see it ticks by fast. I have not told you everything about what you will see because I want you to get out there and experience it yourself. Amazing Airboat Swamp Tour – A Must-Do Experience!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the Airboat Swamp Tour with Atchafalaya Basin Landing & Marina! If you're in the area, this is an experience you definitely don’t want to miss.

The tour lasted about 90 minutes, but time flew by so quickly that if we hadn’t known when we boarded, we wouldn’t have believed it was that long! The airboat ride itself was thrilling, but what made it even more special was the chance to observe the incredible local wildlife, including the iconic bald cypress trees.

One of the highlights was seeing alligators up close—our guides called them in a way that was truly unforgettable! It was something we had never seen before, and getting to watch these wild creatures from such a short distance was an amazing experience.

A huge shoutout to our guides, Nick and Mitch (if I mixed up the names, forgive me—I wasn’t in my best shape that day!). They were absolutely incredible—knowledgeable, funny, and passionate about the swamps, the local area, and its history. Their storytelling and sense of humor made the tour even more enjoyable.
