I would rate this as an okay place in summit co to trail run, walk or hike with or without a pet. It is fairly mild in vertical, with trails cutting through grass. Trailhead accesses the CDT. I mountain biked here and won’t be back for that purpose. Id recommend going elsewhere for mountain biking unless you like greenish blue XC style trails. It reminds me of front range riding with gentle rolling hills and a wagon road. Blair witch was fun but brief and did seem like it was created for biking with a the few berms it had. All features are natural and there is nothing steep about it. I also don’t love arriving at a trail head and seeing a QR code to report tick sightings. Plenty of places to mtb without prairie grasses brushing you the majority of the time nearby.

June 8, 2024 from Vail we drove to Breckenridge Colorado to find camping. We got a spot off North Fork and Tiger Road and had a beautiful Mountain View. Then next morning we woke up, we stopped at the mines near by, then went to another trail head at a old mining area called the Blair Witch Trailhead off Tiger Road. The Bucyrus dredge loop trail, a historical site, once the home of massive 500-ton dredges that operated when the creeks and gulches around Breckenridge were alive with mining activity in the late 19th century. The remains of one of these gigantic dredges can still be found trapped in the pond it created in its gold-hungry wake. ⛰️

Take note that the trail-head map will be titled "Horseshoe Dredge" and not "Blair Witch". This was a pleasant and fairly easy snowshoe trail that my buddies and I took in January. The views weren't spectacular (for Colorado), but they were pleasant enough to enjoy and possibly come back and visit a second time.

This trail is lovely but there is an upsetting amount of dogshit on the trail. Because of the snow conditions I was only able to go 1.3 miles (you’ll need snowshoes) but I probably saw 20 piles of dogshit. Is that what we’re doing on trails now? Even more annoying is the fact they have dog bags available and stocked and trash cans at the trail head. Someone left dogshit a foot away from the doggie bags and trash bin. If you do this, you do not deserve to enjoy these beautiful...
