I went from Mar 6-9. I will say, my beginner ski lesson and the beginner slopes were great! Wide slopes helped with someone just learning to ski. However, Copper Mountain did not at all embody what I think of when I think of a ski trip. I saw one snow plow clear one sidewalk the whole time I was there. This made getting around a bit difficult. I had to lug my luggage and my ski gear around a lot more than I would’ve liked. Even getting to the bus stop isn’t always easy depending which slope you are coming from. The ice skating rink was renting skates…if you want to ice skate on a snow covered rink. It wasn’t clear my whole visit. The Coaster was also closed the whole time, likely due to understaffing. I didn’t find any nice warm, cozy ski lodge to have hot chocolate in, like what’s always romanticized when you think of ski trips. Even though I researched online, the website is lacking info and was difficult to navigate, and I thought that sort of cozy environment was a given on such a large campus.
The Stage Shuttle was useful, and I actually enjoyed Frisco and my hotel there more than Copper Mountain. The Copper Mountain routes don’t give arrival times at the stops or online, so you have to indefinitely wait in cold/snow, or walk to your destination, but there also wasn’t enough signage for the best ways to navigate between the villages. Finally, I walked to go get my gear the day before my lessons and was told that, due to staffing issues, they stop fitting gear at 5:30 even though the website said they don’t close til 6. The website just said you can pick up after 3 but didn’t say when was too late. I got there at 5:40 and was turned away, and had to consequently show up on the opposite end of the resort at 8am instead of 9am the next morning. All of these little things added up, and overall it seems that while the skiing was good, the logistics around it and amenities at the mountain were...
Read moreI have been going to copper mountain for 3 years now. Me and my son love it! It is such a great resort and well taken care of. This year the shuttle lines have gotten out of control. Copper does a great job of providing a good amount of buses. However the lines are turning into mobs. Yesterday around 3:45 me, my 8 year old, and my boyfriend were getting on the bus for alpine 1 and 2. My son was pushed so many times, was unable to carry his own board because he was falling over, when we were finally able to get on the bus people are literally pushing you onto the bus. I was hit in the head with skis and in the face with a pole. Thankfully I had a helmet and goggles on. My son consistently gets hit with snowboards and skiis and has been pushed over due to people's inability to be respectful getting on and off the bus. I have to hold his hand and block him with my body for him to get off, otherwise he will be pushed. If we try to wait until most people are off we start getting pushed because we are in the way. Yesterday was the worst however this has been an issue this entire year, we go typically 2-3 times a month. I feel copper needs to quit ignoring this issue and make some form of system. Even if it is just blocking off lines for the entrances to the busses. Someone is going to get injured and it will most likely be a child. Everytime I have gotten on the bus with my son this year someone makes the comment "I could not imagine getting on this bus with a child." I love copper mountain but they are lacking in caring for the safety of their guests, especially the younger ones off the mountain, which is a...
Read moreIt is a mountain, it has snow and lifts. If you're willing to pay $260 for an adult ticket, yea you can ride. If you need a place to hit jumps and do backflips, this is your place. But if you're looking to just ride, there are a ton of other places you can go where it won't take half an hour to ride the lift to ride down basic terrain.
I used my real deal from my job. I have to fill out a good chunk of paperwork that told me my dependent pass would be 50% off, which turned into only 20% at the ticket window.
If you choose to park in the free parking, expect a 30-40 minutes on a bus that is way over its legal occupancy. My son started panicking because he couldn't breathe. Imagine a New York subway, then multiply it by ten. If you're claustrophobic at all, just pay to park closer and don't use their shuttle. That was the most people I have seen shoved onto public transport and I was in the army and had to shove into the cattle cars. Those were nothing compared to copper's transit.... Then while riding, just expect to get a face full of the vape from an 18 year old kid. If you call them out expect them to argue back and tell you you're not being "formal" (real word) for telling them to stop blowing vape into your 11 year olds face. Lift lines on a "dead day" still pushed 10-15 minutes. Runs were no better than any other mountain I've been to, just way more expensive. If you want to pay to say you've ridden go for it. But if you work hard for your money, go somewhere else. This is a money grab with lifts. Through my job L, for myself, I only have to pay $5 to ride here, and will...
