We had our wedding at Gold Mountain and it was a really amazing experience. I’ve played golf here several times and have always had nothing but positive things to say, and picking out a wedding venue ended up being a no-brainer when a Saturday in September became available at Gold Mountain.
A couple of the big positives and highlights:
The “In the woods” ceremony venue was gorgeous. It’s absolutely picturesque and exactly why we wanted to have our wedding in the PNW.
Cheryl was our wedding coordinator and she was fabulous. We could tell that she really wanted to make every one of our requests a reality, but was also comfortable admitting when something simply wasn’t possible. She always made herself available to talk things through with us over the phone, over email, and even came straight from the airport to make it for one of our on-site meetings. Thank you for everything!
Megan was our day-of captain who (seemingly) effortlessly made some magic happen and ensured we felt calm and comfortable during rehearsal and the wedding itself. We had a mistake with our cake that we didn’t see until we got to the venue, and she stepped in herself to fix the mess. It was above and beyond and she was a lifesaver.
Food was outstanding - their food tasting experience with the lead chef was a lot of fun, and we ended up going with their pesto chicken and their citrus halibut, both were fantastic. We got a lot of praise from guests that the food was great too. We also did rehearsal dinner at the venue and it was just as amazing.
The whole reception layout is completely customizable with infinite options for layouts, tablecloths, plat settings, chairs and tables, etc. so you can make this exactly what you want it to be. We were also able to bring in our own arbor so we were able to have the ceremony spot looking as we wanted, as well.
Everyone we worked with was very responsive and held true to their word on things that were promised. We never had to wait for a response and they honored many of the promises made when we booked the venue, even if some policies changed.
We truly felt like it was a 5-star review, but just a couple things to note, and maybe just some helpful advice for the venue:
We wanted some specific local beers/kegs on tap, and I will admit it was difficult trying to navigate their food/beverage distribution partner, but in the end, they made it all happen for us.
The one day-of element that didn’t quite go according to plan is the dressing room situation. There is only one conference room-like room that they consider the bridal suite, but it is nothing to write home about. But since it is just one room with no dividers, there is nowhere for the groom to get ready outside of the bathrooms. I think they could really benefit from a renovation of this room with the option to divide the room in two for weddings.
Again, this truly was deserving of a 5-star review. The goods and service we received was so worth the cost ratio, especially when compared to other nearby venues. They took care of so many of the finer details that I know many couples stress over, but we had a very stress-free time planning our wedding with Gold Mountain. They made our dream wedding a reality and I can’t thank everyone enough for their help in making...
Read moreGold Mountain Golf Club has long been revered as a beacon of excellence in the realm of golfing destinations, and any other year, this review would undoubtedly be a glowing 5-star tribute to its merits. However, a recent visit has revealed a glaring issue that cannot be overlooked: the current state of the greens leaves much to be desired. Despite this setback, there are still plenty of reasons to appreciate what Gold Mountain has to offer, including exceptional value for the golfing experience it provides.
Scenic Splendor: Set against the backdrop of the majestic Olympic Mountains, the courses at Gold Mountain offer a visual feast for the senses. Lush fairways wind their way through towering evergreens, while panoramic views of snow-capped peaks provide a stunning backdrop to every swing. Whether you're teeing off on the Olympic Course or navigating the challenges of the Cascade Course, each hole offers its own unique vista, ensuring that every round is a feast for the eyes.
Superb Course Conditions (Apart from Greens currently): The meticulous attention to detail evident in the maintenance of Gold Mountain's courses is truly commendable. From finely combed through bunkers to pristine fairways, almost every aspect of the playing surface is a testament to the club's commitment to excellence. It's unfortunate to report that the condition of the greens at Gold Mountain Golf Club is currently subpar. For the past few months, these vital components of the golfing experience have been in poor shape, exhibiting signs of wear and inconsistency that detract from the overall enjoyment of the game. While the rest of the course may still maintain its allure, it's impossible to overlook the significant impact that the state of the greens has on the overall experience.
Challenging Yet Rewarding Layouts: Whether you're a seasoned pro or a casual enthusiast, the courses at Gold Mountain offer a challenge to suit every skill level. With strategically placed hazards, undulating terrain, and thoughtfully designed layouts, each round presents a new and exciting test of skill. From the strategic bunkers of the Olympic Course to the scenic water features of the Cascade Course, every hole offers its own unique set of challenges and rewards.
Exceptional Value: Despite the challenges posed by the greens, Gold Mountain Golf Club continues to offer exceptional value for the golfing enthusiast. The sheer beauty of the courses, combined with their challenging yet rewarding layouts, ensures that every round played here is a memorable experience. Add to that the warm hospitality of the staff and the stunning vistas that surround the course, and it's easy to see why Gold Mountain remains a popular choice among golfers seeking a quality experience without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Gold Mountain Golf Club may be facing a temporary setback in the form of subpar greens, but its overall appeal remains undeniable. For golfers willing to look past this issue, there's still plenty to love about this beloved destination. With its exceptional value, breathtaking scenery, and challenging courses, Gold Mountain Golf Club continues to hold its place as a top-tier golfing destination in the...
Read moreJust played the Olympic course yesterday on a beautiful, clear, late November day. You couldn't ask for a better golf day, truly. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The entire facility is 5 star, from the staff the clubhouse, pro shop and most important the course. The staff were all extremely polite friendly and very helpful. The clubhouse and pro shop were extremely well kept. Having great food, views, and everything you could ever want. The pro shop is very impressive with more merchandise than some golf stores. But the course we played the "Olympic" was absolutely amazing for the late fall. From the tea boxes all the way to each and every green just spectacular. This is a world-class operation. My only recommendation would be to probably walk this course this time of year when it's "cart path only." The fairways can be really wide. By time, you grabe three or four clubs walk to your ball make your shot and walk back to your cart can take a long time. I think you're walking more than if you just walk the course playing it. I can't wait to get back here and play the Cascade course. This is a gem in the Pacific Northwest for anyone who loves to golf. I'd say it's a much better course than say the Homecourse by leaps and bounds. It's much more affordable than the likes of Druids Glenn in Covington, High Ceders in Orting, or Willows Run in Redmond. All of which can be nice places for a round of golf, but are overpriced, overcrowded, and the staff just aren't very friendly, nor helpful. If you've read this review too here, you're obviously interested in visiting Gold Mountain, and I would say get out there, you won't be...
