Carr's Tunnel — Attraction in Bridgeport

This was the first tunnel along the B&O Parkersburg Branch, bored from 1853-1855, but bypassed by the parallel running Lodgeville tunnel in 1952 and apparently sealed since that time, although from the east portal you can see into the tunnel, which through time had converted itself into a half mile long swimming pool. Very difficult to access from the private road as there are homes everywhere and nowhere to park..can't tell if we would be entering private property to access so we left...
