I’m giving 1 star only because it’s a beautiful layout however I experienced my first episode of racism at this location I drove a group to the venue to get married and decided while they’re being happy to go take a walk and stretch my legs and noticed a white pickup truck with a older Caucasian man with gray hair and glasses and a older Caucasian woman with reddish hair as I walked along the gravel I stopped to look at some art that was painted they then pulled along side of me and told me that it was private property and I can’t be on that side of the fence I told them that I’m a charter bus driver that brought a group here to be married they continued to tell me what I cannot do I ignored them and said Obama I continue to walk the gravel road I brought the bus through and the old man followed me to the road in a dark navy or black small SUV I was just standing there talking to my father on my phone and he told me didn’t I say you can’t be on this side of the fence and I replied I’m working on that side of the fence he then told me that I need to get out the street before I get ran over at that point I felt like he was going to a shoot me like Ahmad Aubrey so I called the cops to let them know what I’ve experienced then a lady pulled along side of me and asked me did I need help and she told me around here no offense most don’t like blacks she even gave me a ride back to my bus because I told her that I was concerned that they will shoot me I wouldn’t recommended this place to nobody anytime u can’t be yourself due to your skin color is a major problem what’s ironic is the house he was going in and out of is possibly part...
Read moreI really wish that this was a positive review for The Barn at Paradise plantation because the venue is absolutely breath taking. However, this is not the case. Don’t waste your time with a tour unless you’re willing to drive over an hour if you’re in midcities DFW just to meet with someone who definitely isn’t friendly. From the start Amanda did not greet as other venues have done, her first words to us were “do y’all want to come in”. There was no greeting , no “good afternoon”, what happened to “southern hospitality?” I guess she threw it out the window right from the start. Our tour lasted a total of 10-15 minutes yet it felt so long due to the dry attitude of our tour guide. My only guess can be that she just wasn’t interested in our business. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how beautiful the venue is; had Amanda been friendly we would have definitely booked on the spot. Look for another venue with friendly people, it will make this stressful process feel much easier.
*edit We received a call from one of the owners the following day trying to make right of the situation. We are very grateful and appreciative of Blaine for calling to apologize and offering to help us out. However, we have decided to continue our search for...
Read moreA Standing Ovation for The Barn at Paradise Place! I’ve been a Wedding DJ for 9 years, and I love working at this Venue. From the sprawling, beautifully manicured lawns to the rustic yet elegant charm of the barn itself, this venue is a picturesque dream come true for any couple! Working as a DJ/MC, I've witnessed first-hand how the dedicated owners and staff here go above and beyond to craft a flawless wedding day.
A special nod to Haley - what a gem! Her sweetness and genuine care for the events she handles is immediately apparent. Collaborating with her was not only easy but a true joy, making the working atmosphere light and fun while maintaining the utmost professionalism.
Every corner of The Barn at Paradise Place seems to hold a special magic that brings an extra dash of charm to weddings held here. It’s easy to get lost in its scenic beauty, and with a team that’s so focused on creating perfect moments, it has undoubtedly become one of my favorite places to bring music and joy to. Here’s to many more enchanted evenings at this lovely venue!
