I am new to the area and was very excited to bring my kids here. I am currently 9 months pregnant so my husband went to drop us off at the gate before parking, the man in the house was very rude and ran out of his house to tell us we were not allowed to park in the handicap parking. Firstly: you don’t know if we are handicap or not- second he was turning around to drop us off. When I told him that he went back into his home, slamming the door. Then while waiting for my husband to walk back to the gate he got into his SUV and sped away- doing at least 35/40 at my husband. If I didn’t have young kids I would have left to find another park to walk. Very unhappy with this man and his attitude, not the behavior I expected in my new town. The park was beautiful but I...

The Great River Preserve is simply stunning. We were taken here to do a photo shoot but will definitely be coming back. The land was purchased from the Lehtola family in 2009 and contains wide open fields, wooded areas, and native American historical sites. In all, the preserve covers 328 acres. Unlike many preserves, hunting is permitted at certain times of the year. There is a discontinued road which provides a perfect walking trail which winds through meadows filled with wildflowers, and into wooded areas with a bridges and streams. This place is a must visit for those wanting to get a way for a...

Very overgrown, wasn't even able to find path at some points and had to turn back because no where to cross the watery marsh area. Very pretty in areas that were cleared. So many pretty views and wild flowers. Lots of mosquitoes and poison ivy. My family always wears heavy duty bugs spray but it didn't even seem to phase...

Beautiful place to go for a light hike. The trailers are very well maintained and the area is very very clean. It's a mix of meadows, light wetlands, forest, and riverbanks. The whole trail is about 2.4mi, but there are plenty of cut through trails to keep it short if you want to. Dont miss the river lookout while you're there!

You wouldn't know you were in the middle of suburban Massachusetts. The sprawling forest and field are a great place for a walk in the woods, a dog walk, or hunting (in the right season). One of my favorite places.
