I am new to the area and was very excited to bring my kids here. I am currently 9 months pregnant so my husband went to drop us off at the gate before parking, the man in the house was very rude and ran out of his house to tell us we were not allowed to park in the handicap parking. Firstly: you don’t know if we are handicap or not- second he was turning around to drop us off. When I told him that he went back into his home, slamming the door. Then while waiting for my husband to walk back to the gate he got into his SUV and sped away- doing at least 35/40 at my husband. The land was purchased from the Lehtola family in 2009 and contains wide open fields, wooded areas, and native American historical sites. In all, the preserve covers 328 acres. Unlike many preserves, hunting is permitted at certain times of the year. There is a discontinued road which provides a perfect walking trail which winds through meadows filled with wildflowers, and into wooded areas with a bridges and streams.
