Went here on a day use pass to kayak, hike, and swim this summer. Be warned that kayak rentals are not provided by the park as listed on the state park website. There is a local kayak rental service they can refer you to, for a slightly higher price. They'll bring the kayaks right to the launch for you, which is nice at least. Kayaking on this lake is not the best for a relaxing ride, as there are tons of motorized boats causing a ton of wake. There was a nice short nature hike by the beach all along the lake that was enjoyable. Well labeled and clean. The beach itself was lovely. There's plenty of shade, picnic tables, and water for everyone to have their own space. The water was very clean and the sand beneath the water was soft. It wasn't too cold either. We had plenty of space to toss around a Frisbee and had some duck friends visit occasionally. The bathrooms were clean during our visit, but we arrived...

We love wellington state park. I got NH state park plates just because I go so often with my kids haha.

Lake is clean, beautiful, and well maintained. They have grills for anyone to use as well.

There are a few pavillions. One of these years, I will have to rent it out for a birthday party! Their bathrooms are decently maintained. I havent used their changing rooms.

Their bathrooms and changing rooms do close quite early, which is my only con, but it does mean people tend to go home around 4-5 pm and the lake gets very quiet and beautiful. It's sad their bathrooms arent open longer since my kids end up having to use the nasty portable toilets.

They do have some rentals, but again, ive never used it. Ive been going to newfound lake ever since I moved here, almost 7 years ago, and it has my...

What a beautiful place to spend the day! My boyfriend has been coming here since he was a child. We even got the exact same picnic table his parents got every time. The water was nicely clear and not too cold. The beach itself is very wide on not very long until you hit the water. It is supremely clean. The facilities for the bathrooms and changing were some of the cleanest I've ever seen also. For those with kids they had playground equipment and even round floaters for rental in case you forgot or don't have your own! The temps that day were almost 90 yet being surrounded by trees made the temp drop to a very comfortable level. I hope this jewel doesn't get put on a top ten list otherwise it will get overwhelmed. Definitely recommend and will be...

What a lovely find. The water here is crystal clear and the beach sand is remarkably soft. There are outdoor grills and abundant picnic tables... I also noticed people bringing their own gas grills, so that must be allowed. The bathrooms are insanely clean and DRY. There are also dressing rooms, which we did not enter but I can't imagine they would be any different than the remainder of the facility. The park itself does not have a lot of hiking, but we did hike Goose Pond up the road a bit. The only downfall to the area is the pines contribute to an abundance of mosquitos. My daughter ended up with 10 bites on her head and I ended up with 15... and we were only there from 9 until 1 and using repellant.

We took a drive to Newfound Lake in Bristol NH today just to explore the area as we are always looking for good and interesting open water swimming places. We found Wellington State Park on the southwest shore of the lake and fortunately the gates were open. We looked around, walked on the little beach, and decided it would be a nice beach to visit during the Summer season. We saw several people snowshoeing on the trails, and the view of the lake, several islands, and mountains in the distance was very nice on this warm and sunny day in March. The images I posted are late Winter season of the park and other areas around the lake, yet I’m guessing the views in the summertime will be even more enjoyable.

Very well maintained state park. Access to the park requires advance reservation. We have been attempting to reserve a spot since June(for weekends) and finally found availability this weekend and weather was also pleasant. The water was clear and good temp to swim, vmax 5-6 ft depth and marked well. Plenty of picnic benches were available for use. Park also had kayak for rentals ($15/hr) with life vests. Beach had 3 -4 life guards. There's bathhouse and changing rooms seperately than the rest rooms - all clean. Small snack bar available. Service staff were nice and helpful.
