McLean Farms Nursery & Ice Cream Shop — Attraction in Broadway

I learned about this ice cream stand via a Nextdoor post from the owner. A friend and I recently went to check it out. Simple menu but very reasonably priced, good portions and yummy ice cream from NC Dairy farm, Homeland Creamery. Cash or Venmo only!

Compared to some other local ice cream shops, the number of flavors are limited but they had some fun ones like lemon crunch and blueberry danish (which may be seasonal). We both got hot fudge sundaes with real hot fudge. They also came with wet nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry. Several people before us got milkshakes that also looked pretty good.

The covered porch out back was nice to sit and talk while we enjoyed our ice cream. They also have a few tables inside along with bathrooms. There is a large play area outside for families as well. Perfect spot for a short trip out of town and...

We visited McLean Farms today for their strawberry festival. We had a great time. The strawberries are delicious and plentiful! They have 3 different sized containers you can choose with 3 different prices. The largest is $18. There is a silo that has been converted into 2 bathrooms. There are even ceiling fans in the bathroom which is nice on a hot day. They also have ice cream that you can purchase outside or from the counter inside their large AIR CONDITIONED space. Stopped in after seeing the farm name mowed into one of their fields from an airplane. Great place to take the kids! Spacious air conditioned sitting area indoors with lots of tables, nice/clean restrooms, friendly staff, great play area in the back with rocking chairs and covered porch, and an inflatable bounce pad.
