Beavers Bend Nature Center — Attraction in Broken Bow

Recently spent a few days in Hochatown, hitting the hiking trails in the Beavers Bend State Park each morning. Stopped by the Nature Centre off Old Park Road for a brief visit and found this an interesting place to learn about local wildlife, fish, birds and a bit of geology. There are a few aquariums with local snakes and turtles as well.

My dog and I spent the day here hiking. We started on the mountain lookout trail. It was definitely a difficult trail for experienced hikers. Make sure you wear boots with good grip or you’ll be sliding down the trail. Overall it was a good hike, but we couldn’t find the overlook everyone was talking about. ADA sidewalk is fantastic and fun for wheelchairs and children's strollers. The sidewalk meanders through the trees, over a small creek bridge and to the restaurant nearby.
