I just want to start by saying the staff is phenomenal. I stopped in with one of my girlfriends and they are so knowledgeable and kind! We didn't know what we wanted so Bridget helped us with recommends for the wine flights and the charcuterie board, the employees here are so welcoming and they make time for your questions.
I would also like to add, we were here last week and they were having issues with their system. It was no big deal and they exlained to us that for our tab they needed to know if we were going to be using cash/card. While they were very patient and explained the situation, there was another group of women that did not understand and thought they were being personally singled out. The group was extremely rude to the women working but the employees handled it like experts, somehow managing to stay professional and polite with these women snapping at them and demanding free things (glasses of wine, use of the fire pits, etc.) everytime they came by. I saw a previous review that I think is from one of the women there and I was upset by it. Their misunderstanding and the situation and their belief that they were treated poorly when they were the ones being unreasonable and argumentative should not be held against this establishment.
I don't live nearby but our experience was so wonderful, Averill House has become one of the places we will revisit. It's a small location but as soon as we walked in we were greeted like we were old friends, the staff is amazing and the experience is absolutely worth every penny. We can't wait to see...
Read moreWe left feeling let down and disappointed today. Service was sub par. Server was unfriendly and had no knowledge of the wines to share with us. The peach Chardonnay was so weak and watery that I and didn’t even want to finish the small glass of it which was part of the flight I ordered. The waitress asked how it was and I told her I didn’t like it. Her response to me, “I don’t like that one either.” We are on the 7th winery as part of the NH wine trail and this is the first one I regret attending. The highlight of our visit was the porta potty was exceptionally clean and the small charcuterie board we ordered was quite generous. I do have to say there was another server that was working that seemed quite pleasant. The luck of the draw gave us an unfriendly server that made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome from the time we arrived until we left. Needless to say we will not be returning. There are so many great wineries in NH that have offered beyond wonderful service as well as...
Read moreMy friends and I loved our experience at Averill House Vineyard! The staff was really nice and knowledgeable about the wine they were serving. And the scenery was so pretty.
More importantly, the wines were delicious!! You can definitely tell the quality of the wine at Averill House Vineyard is much better because it came straight from the source, vs. the wine you get from the grocery store. We especially loved the wine slushees (thank you to our server who recommended blending red and white wine together)!
My only recommendation to Averill House is adjusting their hours of operation online. I scheduled a wine tasting at 5:00PM and we were told that they closed around 6:00PM. This is totally fine, but I would have liked to schedule an earlier tasting so we could spend a little more time there. 😊
But thank you to all for the...
