Horrible customer service. If I could give would. Extremely rude. Called and asked what time they closed, and they said 5. We got there, and the doors were open. Go right in. Wait at check-in for a good 5 mins. I started to look around for an employee. A lady comes waking down the stairs. Not even a high how are you? Yea, what do you want? How does she respond? How does the "DIRECTOR RESPONDED"? I said yes I'm trying to check in" She IGNORANTLY said WE ARE CLOSED NO NO NO,"I explained. I called and asked what time they closed.I was told 5pm. She responds by saying she's been there all day."You didn't call here. I tried showing her I did on my phone. Again, rudely, she says nope. How would she know if she didn't even give me a chance to show her. As I'm walking out the exit. The "EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR " Hollas from upstairs. Ignorantly and loud says, "Come back in so I don't have to yell at you!" At first, I didn't even know where he was hollering from. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWFUL. I WAS SO EXCITED BECAUSE IT WAS A BIRTHDAY FOR SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL A SUPRISE. SOMEONE WHO LOVES CARS. I'm sorry I have been in customer and patient services my whole life. Them two were extremely unprofessional. I traveled two hours as well I'll drive seven hours next time to go somewhere else. IGNORANT!!!!!! LEARN BETTER CUSTOMER SRRVICE CAUSE YOU LOST A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER THAT WOULD HAVE BECOME A MEMBER AS MY WHOLE FAMILY LOVES CARS. OH WELL, MANY OTHER PLACES. Also, if you're "closed," do you not lock the doors? You left your doors wide open. No one in the front, both director and executive directors, both upstairs in the back....
Read moreA must see for any car historian or enthusiast. I came here for the first time on Miata Day. $12 per person, and that includes admission for the event and the museum. I got here late when some cars already left but there were still plenty on the lawn, hood open for the engine to bask in all the glory. Some cars were modded while some were near stock. Everyone seemed very friendly, though the good vendor was charging an arm and leg for a sausage (and it was cut the long way so you really only get half).
As for the museum itself, it's in the old carriage house. On display were some incredibly rare cars, that resemble horse carriages except without the horse, and even 2 electric vehicles way ahead of it's time. The first floor had plenty of cars over 100 years old. The second level had some beautiful Ferraris, motorcycles, model cars, other memorabilia. Third floor was restricted to employees only.
Definitely worth the visit. I didn't explore the rest of the park but driving around the area, it seems like you're much further from Boston than...
Read moreWe got married at Larz Anderson Auto Museum this past August. We had a our ceremony at the park and our cocktail and reception at the museum. We could not have been happier with the venue and its staff. Working with Karen Hasenfus was a pleasure from the beginning of our process. Karen and her team's professionalism, assistance and care resonated until the last guest left the venue ten months later.
We had an 80 person wedding inside the carriage house, which we thought was the perfect size. The main room overall flowed nicely and did not feel tight at all, while still maintaining a decent size dance floor. If considering a summer or late summer (when temps are slightly cooler) reception inside the museum, we recommend upping the suggested 2 fan to 3 or 4. It gets hot in that room, but that is manageable.
Other than that, you can count on a beautiful and super cool venue; and a timely, responsive and informative group to work with...
