We went to Dewberry Farm 10/26 and it was an awesome day. They have added more rides for the kids and more food options. The place is always packed and makes for an entire day of activities to do. We have gone 3 years in a row and still have not been able to do it all and we go from open to close every year. My recommendations as a mom are to take a stroller or preferably a wagon as the terrain is not level and you will need bigger wheels to move about easier. I also like bringing our wagon so you can bring a few MUST items if you are going while itās still hot this time Of year. It was 88 degrees yesterday with a slight breeze and we were COOKING out there. It was very HOT. if you have children please bring them a wagon or stroller to rest. I do not recommend bringing little babies out there. We saw some tiny ones out there yesterday in direct heat. The risk of overheating is not worth it. It is also a TON of walking. We walked over 20,000 steps yesterday. Wear comfortable shoes-this is not the time to be cute or fashionable. Itās farm land and not even ground. There is a ton of dust and more as people show up kicking it around. Bring bandaids, kids ibuprofen, a portable fan, neck fan or stroller fan for the kids. A hand held fan for yourself if you can. A telescoping seat if you canāt stand for long. Hand Sanitizer, wipes, sunscreen, and an umbrella. There is very minimal places to sit and rest. Itās a lot of walking and standing. Bring sunscreen and an umbrella for shade while waiting in lines!! I also brought our own yeti cups and filled it with as much ice As I could and bought water bottles to refill my cup all day. I had all this in my wagon along with a pillow and light sheet blanket for my child. Be prepared to buy LOTS of drinks or bring your own cooler to keep in your car. You canāt bring food or drinks in but we did bring a small diaper bag with our own snacks and a few water bottles. Trust me you will need more drinks than anything else. We ate there at the smokehouse bbq restaurant and it was around $12 for a brisket sandwich and $18 for a combo plate (sandwich and two sides). Drinks are $5 bucks basically or get a souvenir cup with $3.99 refills. That was worth it to us. We got about 5 refills while there all day plus a few water bottles. I would dress comfortable, light, and good shoes as mentioned. The cons of this place::minimal benches, shade to rest especially as you get farther out to the corn maze and flower picking. Not enough benches for the parents while waiting near the kids rides. Needs more shade covers if possible. Being under the direct sun was pretty hard for both us adults and kids. I wish they could install more shade if possible. I also recommend they have a specific team on bathrooms. As the day progressed the bathrooms got dirtier and many had no Toilet paper or hand soap. I brought baby wipes to freshen up, hand sanitizer and a small hand towel for my husband to wipe his sweat throughout the day. Trust me you are going to sweat and be pretty funky if you stay all day out in the sun. Last thing is we bought tickets for the trail of terror as I thought it was just a hayride. INCORRECT! it Is a tractor ride to a different area and it drops you off to walk through a haunted forest trail. This is VERY SCARY and has lots of jump scares and actors. This was my mistake and I do not recommend this to young children. It was very scary and many children were crying and absolutely terrified. I do not recommend scaring your child like this. It was too much for young kids. Teens and adults will likely love it, if thatās your thing. I think they should offer a night hay ride just around the park. That would be a lot of fun. The train ride during the day is very nice and a must. Overall this place is great and we will continue to go every year. Eat a big breakfast and get there early and stay late. Itās a beautiful place for fall photos and for the kids. Just be sure to bring the things...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this place. 6 years ago I would have given it 5 stars hands down. That is not the case now. Over the last three years they have really gone down. They have grown and not in a good way.
DIABETICS PAY CLOSE ATTENTION, they do not care about how serious your condition is or your child's condition. I have a screenshot of how little they actually care. I just don't know if I can share it. I have a type 1 diabetic kid. If you know anything about type 1 diabetics especially newly diagnosed type 1 diabetics there blood sugar drops and rises very quickly. Every place small or large has either a skip the line or hold my spot option in the event your kids blood sugar drops and they have to be treated right away, you can get your place back in line. This happened to us last night with my 11 year old son. We had been waiting in line for their "terrifying" š(it not at all) Haunted trail of terror. When my son's sugar started to tank. I had my husband speak with management to see if we got out of line could we get our spot back or skip the line after he was treated. They said no they would not allow that. I then messaged them while I was feeding my kid candy corn and sent my daughter to get him a coke. They however tried to spin it as they would never allow there child with a disability and low blood sugar to go in a "terrifying " Haunted attraction. Really? If you are going to have a place as big as this you better start educating yourself on how to accommodate people with disabilities. Diabetics kids want to have fun too. The way they have it set up is you better hope your blood sugar stays good in this hour wait otherwise you will be getting in and out of extremely long lines and that's just too bad for you. Oh but they will refund your ticket for that attraction. Oh and THEY DO NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS. Remember those long food lines yeah you are not getting food in an emergency.
Excuse my typing in messenger, I didn't have my reading glasses.
This is supposed to a pumpkin patch where are the pumpkins? They used to have a huge field full of pumpkins. You could get great pictures in the pumpkin patch. What you get now are photo props with pumpkins, and extremely long lines. That's where all their pumpkins are. In those props. Before if lines for the little pumpkin displays were long it wasn't a big deal you could get pictures in the patch and come back to the photo props later. This no longer the case.
Restrooms are disgusting. They do not have the staff to keep them clean or even functioning properly. Most of the toilets are clogged. A lot of the time you will find urine on the floor it really is gross.
Food has always been an issue there. You wait in these long lines in blistering heat, there is no shade in these lines and most of the time by the time you get up there to order they do not have what's on the menu. I can't tell you how many times they run out of food. You will stand in a line well over 45 minutes with the sun beating down on you. It's not hard to have an employee walk down the line and yell we are out of Turkey legs, sausage on a stick or roasted corn. Each food venue sells specific items so it's not like they have a huge list or they are having to guess at what you are in line for. Plan to spend about three hours of your day just trying to feed your family, or hope everyone in your family wants to eat the same thing.
They did away with their fabulous lighted pumpkin display which was the jewel of this pumpkin patch and really was something to see and replace it with a not at all scary Haunted barn. Why? Just why?

Ā Ā Ā Read moreHeres how our day at dewberry went! It started out not so great. We arrived at 9:25 the farm didnāt open until 10:00 so we expected to have great, upfront parking. This wasnāt the case they directed us down and around and we ended up being no where close to the entrance slight announce nothing big. Then after driving an hour I asked if I could use the bathroom before the farm opened and was told no. There were no restrooms outside the park so I had to wait 20 mins at this long I was mad. This was absolutely ridiculous but whatever. Once I made it inside the Bathrooms were nasty and full of trash from day before Iām not making this up! Trash and toilet paper everywhere just gross. Then we realized things had def changed, we have been loyal dewbwery fans for years so when I saw the add on Facebook I ordered out tickets without going to the website. This was my mistake I should have checked the website then I would have realized that they no longer allow you to bring in food and drinks in. This was a surprise as I had packed nice picnic lunch and plenty of snacks and drinks for the day. (Fortunately They didnāt enforce this!!) in the years past when you pay general admission the apple cannons, paintball, gems stones, are no longer included with admission and there is NOT a disclaimer on the website or the info thereās also not a plan where you can see whatās included and what your paying for so you pay for the ticket thinking your getting everything then you get inside and realize you now have to pay for all these things. There are some new things like a haunted house we paid for it and for $6 a person it was great my boys loved it and were scared. Thereās also a few roller coasters which are fun but geared towards smaller kids again totally fine BUT the employees are not well trained!!! My son and friend got in and it started they werenāt buckled in correctly another employee ran over to tell him to stop the ride and buckle the kids in 𤯠huge red flag. š© Again employees are not knowledgeable on the rides and limits they told our friend who weighs 130 he couldnāt ride the ride because it had an 180lb limit then they decided it wasnāt his weight that was an issue it was his height yet they had no measuring stick or scale to verify or set expectations for this ride. Thereās plenty to do and itās fun but itās def not the dewberry you know and love. Sadly this place has become more about the $$$ and less about the people you see this by the lack of cleanliness, the bounce house that isnāt inflated, the rides that donāt work and the employees who arenāt well trained and helpful. Another example of this is long lines to the womenās room, I noticed the long lines and realized people didnāt know there are 4 stalls on the other side as well I told the ladies but there were several employees breaking down a catering right beside the long line thatās just crazy to me. At this point Iām prob just annoyed and nitpicking I wonāt lie. The kids had a great time but we wonāt be back. I literally paid $40 to watch my kids play today in the past at least my ticket got us paintballs, apples and gems for the kids. Had I known in advance I wouldnāt have been upset business is business and I get it but I donāt like that it was hidden it and not communicated at all even if I went to the website. The website should have huge disclaimers thatās say new owners, changes etc. Iām sure not everyone will appreciate my comment or review and thatās totally fine just sharing my experience so you can be prepared! If I was a first timer I would think itās great, if youāve been coming for years you will be...
