Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Interesting and informative displays and explanatory information. Well-stocked gift shop that supports this organization. Inside building is warm and dry, which is very welcome on a cold winter day. Restrooms are small structures outside. Several feeding stations for birds around the center. Short (half mile) trail runs through the woods from center to another feeding station. This Welcome Center is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Love coming here during winter. If your trip consists of taking a glance at a GGO make sure to stop at the Welcome Center and look at the board to see where it has been spotted. There are no guarantees but, if you’re lucky you won’t regret all the driving it takes. Best time to see one is at dawn I was able to see it two days in a row.

Very friendly and informative staff. She customized a map for us with the best places to look for the bird and plant species we wanted to see and answered our questions. The boardwalk right at the visitor center was a beautiful introduction to the bog. We'll definitely return.

Awesome spot to start your exploration of Sax-Zim bog. A huge array of feeders is kept up during the winter months, and attracts many northern specialty birds such as Redpolls, Pine Grosbeaks, and Gray Jays. The center is staffed by volunteers, and is only open Mid-December to Mid-March. However, the grounds are open year round for your exploration of the bog habitat. During the winter, a sightings board is maintained here - check it out for where particular species have been...

This was the first time I've been here. The Welcome Center is new and really nice and workers are friendly. The trails are flat (no hills) but snow covered. Walking was easy with Yak Traks and I also used a trekking pole. For a first time visit and with snow on the ground, I really enjoyed the bog. Only saw squirrels and a few different kinds of birds. Was hoping to see an owl or some mammals but...
