Forest Farm is one of the pioneer farms of the homesteading movement. This farm with its stone buildings and vegetable gardens, is a tribute to a simpler way of living. The owners Scott and Helen Nearing, were pioneers in homesteading and the growing of your own sustenance (food). Indeed, they left behind a farm that is an example to us all on the way to simplify living. Recommend Forest Farm, Maine to anyone whom wants to recharge and perhaps learn about eating well and living well. By the way, Scott lived to be 100 years old when he passed and Helen 96. The homestead of Scott and Helen Nearing is not easy to get to, but worth the trip. This is a very peaceful location that has been maintained as a learning center and historical site.
