Day 4, Brownfield, Tx. Oswald Vineyard is a family owned place off a dirt road. Lots of extras if ya want, tastings, cheese and crackers, cinnamon rolls, etc. #adventures #campinglife #ichooseyou #wlw @JKShenanigates

Wow. This little place is remarkable. My wife likes white, I like red. We tried all 4 whites and 2 reds, and we both liked all 6. I’m taking a case home. I love to try little family wineries. You never know what you’re going to get. Normally everything is interesting, but quality is uneven . Not this place; the quality is solid across the board. Definitely worth going off the beaten path!! FYI: they don’t yet make a true sweet wine; they are all dry wines. But they harvest their grapes relatively late, so I think the aromatics have a lot of that “late harvest “ character.

We stopped in and stayed the night with our travel trailer inside the vineyard. They have RV camping spots with electrical hookups. We also did a wine tasting which was awesome. Im not much of a wine drinker but I appreciate the process. Their wines are pretty damn good even for someone like me. Overall with the camping and tasting, it was a very fun experience! They have a big white dog that walks the ground that got along with our Australian shepherds and he’s pretty cool and laid back. Give this place a try, you’ll enjoy it!

We arrived after closing. The patriarch met us on the way in and directed us to the RV parking. Plenty of room. 50 amp power. Julian greeted us and invited us into the winery. No time for the full tasting experience, but we ended up tasting and buying one of every variety.

Before we had left, we had met and had delightful conversations with six different members of the extended family, all of whom live on the property.

I was born in west Texas. I’m a bit biased when I say that west Texans are the friendliest people in the world. The Oswald’s are not west Texas natives, but their personalities certainly match the character of the west...

Oswald farms is one of our favorite family destinations! We found them through the Harvest Hosts app and we stayed the night on their property in our RV (twice). The vineyard is gorgeous, family run, and family friendly. Sunset and sunrise were breathtaking! We enjoyed cheese, crackers, and conversation with the Oswalds while tasting their wines. Our 5 kids loved the cows, chickens, and dogs! When given the choice to visit a big cat rescue sanctuary, they unanimously voted to re-visit the vineyard again. I can’t wait till Oswald’s has their new label! We will be purchasing wine online as soon as it...
