Super disappointed with my recent visit. Definitely regret wasting my time going here. Went for an hour to visit with family. Wasn’t participating only visiting. Never been to slick city, this was my first visit.
Go in and explain to the front desk what I was there for. Was told to go to check in desk. Get in line to check in, explained what I was there for, was told to go to a different counter. Get to that counter was told to go back to check in counter, had to wait in line again. Once at check in counter I explained again what I was there for, then told to go to another counter. Explained again what I was doing there and this time I spoke to an older lady who said she was manager in charge. By this time I am frustrated with the run around, the employees lack of communication and understanding of how their facility works. The lady goes and checks with my family seated near the concession area if I was with them. Once they confirmed this with my family, then sent me to another area to sign a waiver.
Meanwhile, a different family member of mine before I arrived was told something completely different at check in, and she didn’t have any issue at check in but didn’t sign a waiver because she wasn’t asked to.
Super confusing, was told five different things by many different people, two of those employees were very rude with little communication and or direction. The young lady at check in “team lead” with long black hair, long artificial pointy nails was in front of me, laughing with her coworkers about the situation as I was trying to figure out what I was to be doing? The older lady that said she was the manager was also rude and didn’t explain or handle the situation well.
Not sure but for what’s supposed to be a fun, family type of atmosphere turned out to be the complete opposite for me. Not a good experience for my first time stepping foot in slick city. Been to similar facilities and never have they ever been this chaotic and for no reason.
Had someone guided me in the right direction initially, none of this chaos would’ve taken place and I’m sure the experience would’ve been totally different. Might be wise to give employees a little more training and communication on how this facility is ran and how to treat anyone that walks through...
Read moreI'm SO happy we tried this out! It's amazing for something NEW to do in Indiana with kids, teens, and adults. Competitively priced to other activity/attractions of this nature and quality. This is the closest one aside from St. Louis, so it's nice to have gained one locally! 🙌
Slick City is full of a variety of slides🛝 (curling➿, straight, steep, launching🚀, racing, etc), zip line, a bar/swing jump for adults down to 4 years old. Spectators can watch without paying, which is nice for anyone who is unable to slide (pregnant🤰, health issues, etc) but wants to watch! Younger kids have their own area with slides their size, climbing, swings, etc. They're also going to install arcade games, which will be another element of fun🎮 😊
I noticed that soon they'll be opening up sensory friendly times for those who could benefit from it, neon "glow" nights🌟, and Adults Only nights - seems like the most adventurous and fun date night ever!!
As far as the complaints I've seen on other reviews, they are easily solved. It's a new and fun place, so it's obviously going to be busy at different times/days. Showing up randomly is rolling the dice🤷🏼♀️. If you want to guarantee a spot✅, order tickets online while completing your waiver. It's easier and saves a wasted trip! I've also noticed people complaining about being unaware of air time on certain slides (easily solved by watching other riders & skipping that one), complaints about bruises or whatever - FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS of how to ride the mat & correctly use the slide😏. They have rules and directions for a reason 🤦🏼♀️
As a parent, I LOVE that there is a TON of seating throughout to eat and watch. The restrooms are nice and the concessions have a large variety of options🥨🌭🍕🍧🍦🍪. They also host parties🥳, so I'll check that next time one of our birthdays roll around! We can't wait...
Read moreMy family and I went to the glow after hours night first time visiting. I purchased the tickets online. When we got there to check in we found out that we were being forced to buy shirts for the glow night after buying tickets and the required socks it was already over hundred dollars. It was not clear online that you had to buy the shirts. So I was very upset to spend another thirty dollars on shirts. So that's a total of fifty on clothes! Just to come in! The young staff on the slides we're in groups talking we often had to step around them because they were sitting on the stairs my sons are older so I wasn't too upset but if I had younger children I probably would have been more upset I think it's a safety issue tripping over staff probably isn't part of the waiver you have to sign. Most of them weren't watching so I think eventually kids are going to start knocking each other over on the slides. Also for anyone else safety should be a concern three of the four of us injured our necks received multiple Burns all over our body from the slides if you plan on coming wear long sleeves and long pants. Also if you plan on coming becoming paralyzed is a risk. Which your probably told in the Weiver but you should take that more seriously. We didn't buy food because of the unexpected expense but it looked like no one else did either. All in all it was a good one time visit but won't be coming back even though it was fun I think this happy time can quickly turn into a serious injury maybe even death of...
