This park has a long history at the center of life in Bucyrus.
Full of natural beauty, it has a regulation frisbee golf course, a larger modern playscape, an accessible playscape, horseshoe pits, nature trails, twelve shelters, the Knapp bandstand, the Shunk Carillon, the Friendship Bridge, and a larger all-enclosed shelter, mostly among full-grown hardwood trees.
In its more open areas Aumiller Park has newer, very nice softball diamonds, tennis courts, the Bucyrus city pool, and the (in)famous drive-through Sandusky River crossing, the Venus flytrap of park attractions.
Yes, most of the time the Sandusky River actually runs so shallow it's possible to drive through it using the park's Gay street entrance/exit. In the fifty six years I have been alive, on a regular basis, every few years, a strange, darkly-amusing, possibly life-threatening thing happens.
The river entrance is supposed to be closed off by city services using two thick wire ropes whenever the water gets too high, but sometimes the water rises too fast. City services doesn't get there in time. Invariably, some local gets it in their head to cross, even though it's obvious the water is far too deep, and too swift. The picture of them, sitting on the hood of their vehicle, in the middle of the river, ends up on the front page of the local paper.
It's funny, and not, at the same time. I still use it all the time when it's open, but I check the river before I drive through it.
Aumiller Park shelters can be rented at Bucyrus City Hall. The pool, and any other park facilities, can be rented for...

Everything looks new well kept an extremely family-friendly .

As you can see from the photos, there are several play areas all covered with rubber that seem extremely nice.
Looking across the way, you can see several baseball diamonds, local swimming pool with slide.
This place is extremely impressive.

The pool's concession stand is accessible from both the pool and the park, but there is also a vending machine and water fountain available next to...
