This park has a long history at the center of life in Bucyrus.

Full of natural beauty, it has a regulation frisbee golf course, a larger modern playscape, an accessible playscape, horseshoe pits, nature trails, twelve shelters, the Knapp bandstand, the Shunk Carillon, the Friendship Bridge, and a larger all-enclosed shelter, mostly among full-grown hardwood trees.

In its more open areas Aumiller Park has newer, very nice softball diamonds, tennis courts, the Bucyrus city pool, and the (in)famous drive-through Sandusky River crossing, the Venus flytrap of park attractions.

Yes, most of the time the Sandusky River actually runs so shallow it's possible to drive through it using the park's Gay street entrance/exit. In the fifty six years I have been alive, on a regular basis, every few years, a strange, darkly-amusing, possibly life-threatening thing happens.

The river entrance is supposed to be closed off by city services using two thick wire ropes whenever the water gets too high, but sometimes the water rises too fast. City services doesn't get there in time. Invariably, some local gets it in their head to cross, even though it's obvious the water is far too deep, and too swift. The picture of them, sitting on the hood of their vehicle, in the middle of the river, ends up on the front page of the local paper.

It's funny, and not, at the same time. I still use it all the time when it's open, but I check the river before I drive through it.

Aumiller Park shelters can be rented at Bucyrus City Hall. The pool, and any other park facilities, can be rented for...

This park is an awesome slice of heaven here in Bucyrus, Ohio.

Everything looks new well kept an extremely family-friendly .

There looks to be about a dozen picnic tables that are covered and uncovered for a family day out.

As you can see from the photos, there are several play areas all covered with rubber that seem extremely nice.

Looking across the way, you can see several baseball diamonds, local swimming pool with slide.

This place is extremely impressive.

If you’re looking for a day out with the family and you’re in the Bucyrus area, you definitely should come here you...

This is my family's favorite summer hangout. There is playground equipment for all ages, a fenced-in area for dogs, trails and woods for hiking, plenty of places to sit, a pool with a slide, and lots of Pokéstops. The splash pad is our favorite on hot days! There are lots of shelters with picnic tables and grills, some of which have electrical outlets, making them convenient for family gatherings/ parties. The pool's concession stand is accessible from both the pool and the park, but there is also a vending machine and water fountain available next to...

I hate stepping on the acorns but everything else ab this place is incredible. So beautiful the water running across the little road & the friendship bridge is just gorgeous. I took a client here for a picnic lunch yesterday & we both agreed we’d go back again. Don’t bring sweets bc the bees are an army but that’s a given for any park.. ❤️ there’s also a trail you can walk your dogs on too. I didn’t check for a restroom though sorry maybe next time..

Such a phenomenal park! The playground is top notch, it had me wanting to be a kid again. Its giant castles, swing sets for all ages. The splash pad is sensored. It goes off when noone is there and then when you step on the sensors turn the water on. They have the community pool there, and a huge disc golf course. That's on top of the actual ballfields. Just a great place all around.

Visited for the 2024 solar eclipse. It was a great place to visit. Extensive playground for the kids, large lawns, baseball field, enclosed dog park, walking paths, several shelters and picnic tables with grills. The bathrooms were well serviced and reasonably clean. The crowd that had gathered for the eclipse was great, and it was an incredible experience.
