The Loft at The Pickwick Place — Attraction in Bucyrus

What a gem! We attended a New Year's Eve function here that used both levels of the center building known as the Loft.

The lower level has modern finishes, and was set up for standing and mingling. It was comfortable for the guests, with a bar and hors d'oeuvres tables set up at the far end. Two unisex bathrooms with changing stations are available on this level.

The upper level is accessible through either wide stairs or a spacious, smooth-running elevator. A photography station was set up in the large landing area, and the entrance to the Loft's large feature space was opened. TV's were hanging from the walls, bars were set up at either end of the space, and a live jazz band was playing standards from the far end of the room. The room is lit with a combination of retro-style LED bulbs and incandescent fixtures, giving the exposed brick and ironwork of the original structure a warm, inviting glow that doesn't strain the eyes.

The space was arranged for dinner and dancing, and easily accommodated the event's 100+ people with plenty of room to sit at tables and to navigate between them. Waiters and waitresses moved easily through the crowd, and it was easy to quickly move anywhere in the space.

This would be an excellent facility for a wedding, a reception, a company party, or a conference (its sound and video distribution systems were put to good use by the media company that was on-site to link two different locations together.)

The Loft at Pickwick Place is not just a beautiful venue that intertwines old historic elements from its past with original hewn wood beams, antique chandeliers, and brick walls that culminate in a romantic, modern, rustic vibe. Kathy, the coordinator, is amazingly helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. She goes out of her way to ensure the couple, guests, and vendors have everything they need. Also, the apple orchard, pond, and flower farm provide beautiful backgrounds...
