We are long time regular return customers of Bucks Valley Winery. We have introduced friends and family to this winery. We travel the 45 minutes to this winery just to eat and drink wine. We called the winery to give them a heads up that we would be coming on Sunday to celebrate a friends birthday, with a small group of our friends( All of them are also frequent and long time customers). We wanted to make sure that they would have enough food because of being frequent customers we knew that sometimes they run out of pizza dough if its a busy weekend. We also asked if we could bring in a birthday cake. We were told that they had a "contract" with a local shop and would have to buy the cake from the local shop. We were ok with purchasing the cake from them. We were told that we could come after 1:30 PM because they had a cupcake workshop going on earlier. We told them, that after 1:30 was good with us. We received a text the next day and were told they were sorry but that they could not accommodate our group even though the winery was open to the public. We are shocked that the they were willing to turn down a small group that would of been very profitable for them. I can estimate that with the price of their food and wine they probably lost about $600-1000. We normally buy a pizza, stromboli and a bottle of wine and then take another pizza and stromboli home to eat the next day. We really like the food at Bucks Valley and enjoyed all the events that we went to at the winery(Various Music Trivia, Cornhole and getting together with friends). Unfortunately due to being rudely turned away by the owner we will not spend anymore money at...
Read moreIt was kind of "meh." Absolutely do not go there planning to order a dinner, or anything more than a snack. Not that the facility can do a WHOLE lot (they could do a few things) but...as we sat outside, (everyone does) the way the flies swarmed as soon as there was even a little food, was both super gross and annoyingly tiresome. I had to keep one hand free at all times to perpetually swat away dozens of flies trying to befoul my They also have like, no food. Apparently you can bring your own..? (Who would even think about that on a first visit?) Their own menu consists of literally four things, two of which are pizza items. However we got a meat and cheese tray ($12)with roasted peppers and a little bit of bread ($3 extra substitute for Triscuits) Aside from one of the meats being sweet bologna, it was a great snack pairing with the wine. Although there's not a whole lot you can do wrong with pre-sliced meat and cheese, except select a meat or cheese selection... sweet bologna definitely gives away their redneck roots. That being said, their wine is surprisingly sophisticated, especially for this area. They had some very good reserve selections; their semi-dry choices were also good, except for the Tiramisette (or something). It was supposedly semi-dry, spicy with a peppery finish (BIG fan of peppery wines) - it was none of that. It was much closer to semi-sweet and not a bit peppery or spicy. But most if the wines were pretty decent, I enjoyed the Chardonel and the...
Read moreMy husband and I have been visiting Bucks Valley for many years. They have a beautiful setting and building. We have brought our friends and family there for their pizza, hoagies and strombolis, their wines are decent, but the food is what attracts people. We decided to go today for a stromboli and were so disappointed. When we order a stromboli, we always ask for no pepperoni. Today they charged us $1.25 to remove the pepperoni from the stromboli, they used to add extra ham when we did that. When the stromboli came to our table we had at best a layer of salami and ham. We walked away from the winery hungry. We would have said something to the woman owner but she is very unapproachable. Her son usually does an amazing job in the kitchen but I guess they decided to cut corners. Unfortunately we will never return to...
