Buffalo Harbor State Park — Attraction in Buffalo

The park itself is nice I would give it four stars, it has nice areas for walking and recreation, it's really nice to watch sunsets. The issue is with the park police, as soon as the sun sets they immediately kick everyone out of the area and they do it aggressively, without any type of respect at all. It's awful that Buffalo taxpayers are forbidden from enjoying the waterfront after the sun sets, it's absolutely ridiculous... Some people work different shifts and want to take a walk by the lake at night especially in the summer and enjoy the weather. I'm an older woman and was sitting with my friend on one of the picnic tables having a conversation and a female park police drove by and said "Parks closed you have to leave" and we said okay we're going to go in a minute when we get our stuff together. She said "NOW!"- very rudely and aggressively. So we both stood up and she started to drive away, my friend grabbed my arm and said sit back down and let's get our stuff together, as soon as we sat, she slammed on her brakes. Opened her car door, spread her legs apart as if she was in a firing stance, and put her hand on her gun! We were both completely shocked!! She stood there like that and stared us down until we left! I've never dealt with something like that in my life!!! it was completely unacceptable.

I see a young male officer down there being very aggressive with people as well, so it's not just one of them, it appears to be the way they operate down there. Absolutely disgusting to treat...

Yes people, this is the place to go we' have celebrated 70 year birthday, with live band, baby shower, and birthdays, I have several grandchildren we had no problems, and we were close to the water, and restrooms, all children should be carefully watch, Go enjoy and feel the bright sunlight on you, and lastly if you don't swim, just move to the middle of the park furthest from the water, we have met wonderful people out here littles ones do get away, we just lead them back, towards the cushy playground, my family is huge so we usually get the area by the rocks and water.I an several members in the family are swimmers, as always try and have someone who can swim. However I don't think any one seeing a child walking/running would let harm come to any child near the water. Enjoy we always do and if you want to have parties book Now, promise if you wait to long or for summer it will be to late to book, honestly NOW is the time I wouldn't be surprised if their booked already.As always have...
