Every time we road trip through the US, we come across these unique places that look totally out of this world! Here’s 5 places from our recent trip that made us feel like walking on a different planet: 1. Wilson Lake in Kansas! 🌻 We’ve never seen any rock formations like this so close to water. The landscape and the reflections were just wow 🤩 2. Garden of the Gods in Colorado really looks like a place that shouldn’t exist. Tall and sharp rock formations that just protrude out of the ground make the whole landscape look otherworldly! 🏜️ 3. Great Sand Dunes in Colorado definitely makes you feel like you’ve been teleported to a sand planet in Star Wars 🤖 4. The Gillman Tunnels in New Mexico is a really narrow and rocky canyon that makes for an absolutely unique scenery 🪨 5. Don’t think we have to say much about White Sands in New Mexico, because that experience was just mind-blowing and hard to describe 🤯 Have you been to any otherworldly places? If so, list them in the comments! We’d love to check them out 🤩 #visittheusa #exploretheusa #traveltheusa

We happened upon Lake Wislon after staying at the Rairoad Inn several times. Decided to stay a couple of days on our way back to Colorado and definitely glad we did- What a treat!! We stayed at Minooka Park campground and it was fabulous. I booked my reservation the same day, online, and check-in was super easy as someone was at the gate to give us a map. There are dump stations & water just prior to entering the campground as well as at the gate. Bath houses were in very good order/clean. It was quiet at night at a reasonable time , even though there were a lot of people there. The lake is amazing and we couldn't believe this was in the middle of Kansas. The lake was clean and beautiful. Lots of areas to swim if you didn't have a boat. There's a great 2.2 mile trail within walking distance of the campground. Be sure to go to the Railroad Inn, in Wilson, for some history and BBQ!

This place is great, I highly recommend this place, there is so much to do here and many options. the sights are awe inspiring and worth the drive wherever ever you are coming from.

You have multiple options for camping and cabins to rent as well, they have several place to put your boat or jet sky in the water. It’s just a two hour drive north east of Wichita,Kansas.

Any type of water craft will have a good time on this water.

My daughter and I always have a grand time every time we go for a good camping trip.

There are quite some very...

This was our second visit to Lake Wilson. The first visit was for one day and it turned into a week. We only had time for one night this time and it was wonderful. The spaces are off the road and are a good distance from each other so it was quiet. They have a lot of places to walk. It is clean and the water was beautiful and clear. They offer a few loops of sites to choose from. The sites we stayed in were full hook-up. They also have a day area site with boat docks and fish cleaning station. Would...
