This is a beautiful park which offers visitors opportunities for fishing, hiking, and canoeing, but camping is not allowed. There are two lakes in the park. Still standing on the property are the buildings which were part of a corporate retreat, built in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Those structures were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. With a name of Current River State Park I thought the park would offer easier access to the river than it does. But I guess all the money went into Echo...

The facility is located along the bank of the Current River and along with The Ozark Riverway National Park. It has multiple hiking trails including a connector trail over to the newer Echo Bluff State Park, Rounds Springs Campground and a spur trail that connects to the Himont Brushy Creek hiking loop and the Blair Creek Section of the nationally recognized Ozark Trail, a long distance...
